I love Woo Themes. I've personally used the Editorial theme from theme and loved it for blogging. But I've recently am switching that site over to membership and will be putting OP on there with DAP on backend. You cannot go wrong with WT when it comes to blogging. I would also like to point out: Thesis themes. With their new 2.0 it looks sick with SEO and there themes are the fastest loading of any WP theme which is important. Either of those and you can't go wrong. Woo is cheaper to buy and intergrate, Thesis, you buy the kickin framework, and then you buy the skin. Kind of like putting paint on a fast car. Woo = about $79 and Thesis = about $87 for basic and then buying the skin (of course there are free skins that are awesome) Good luck. hope it helps.

My personal favorites are the ones that you can personalize without really having to touch any coding.

E.G., Headway, Genesis with Prose, Thesis, or Catalyst Themes.

Go premium, free themes just aren't going to make the cut.

    Horacio!

I used to use Elegant Themes. They've got a bunch of really good themes and an excellent support forum. And I agree with MrDay, if you want quality you're going to have to pay for it.

When I first got started online, the free templates were usually the cheap ones. If you want you can go a step further and purchase the Thesis Theme.

    Hope this helps! Good luck!

Profits Theme is cool since it comes with a membership stie functionality built in. plus the ability to create landing pages, squeeze pages fairly easily. Check my blog out for one example of it. Might be what you're looking for!

IN my opinion, you can just write new posts at first, and don't care about which theme is the best. Then you can take time to check different themes when you have time.

Your most favorite theme may not be visitors' favorite.

My vote goes to it too. I would also look at some StudioPress themes based on Genesis framework.

I use thesis, although I am not to crazy about Thesis 2.0. But Thesis 1.85 is a great theme to use, simple, seo optimized and professional..

Really, Thesis 2.0 looks awesome. Was thinking of switching from Woo to Thesis. What don't you like abou it?

Thesis 2.0 is a step back in my opinion. It is not newb friendly like it promised, and a month and a half later, they still don't have any documentation, or the bonuses promised. We are being repeatedly told by the mods, that there is no time set for the release of the docs or bonuses.

2.0 is a complete flop. You need to know html and css before you can even begin to make a skin. I rolled my site back to 1.85 which is still a great theme. They still offer 1.85 for download since 2.0 has been such a disappointment. You would be able to gauge the disappointment better on their forums, but you can't access the forums unless you buy

Version 1.85 is still worth the price IMO.

ElegantThemes' themes are my personal choice. If you were to take a look at their list of themes, you'll see a "Personal" tab. That's what I use for my personal website/blog site.

There's no option to choose another font type from its e-Panel, however, If I wanted to tweak something, I do it from Editor's settings.

By the way, I am using premium themes. While free themes are good, you are limited to what's set for free only.

Everyone's tastes and preferences are different, I suggest you check out the top 5-10 premium (paid) themes that offer 30 day money back guarantees and keep the one you like the best. Check out Thesis, Genesis, Profits Theme, and the theme clubs like Woo and Elegant for a start.

Because it looks like crap. I have tried using it in the past and the theme I generated were very generic done only for link building from its footer. I couldn't use them on my personal blog because they were less than average at best. However, this was 2-3 years ago so I don't know if they have improved or not.

A personal blog needs to be individual, so a premium theme is the best way to go.

If you're not technical expect to pay $500 to get a custom design, but that will be all singing and dancing complete with personal images and custom opt-in box and based on one the premium themes mentioned above.

It depends on what you are doing or promoting. I have used profits themes and they worked out pretty well.

Weaver 2, but don't get hung up on which theme to use, content is king, if your content is good, the theme hardly matters as long as the visitors can navigate the blog cleanly. Good luck, Ed.

When it comes to themes ...

woo themes are excellent, and some really good themes on there, thesis is a great theme, for a personal blog it all depends... So long as you get a basic template that allows you to place adverts, and a good organized layout ... You can always customize your header etc ...

Whatever you do, go for the paid themes, FREE themes just wont cut it at all...
