Wordpress split testing plug-in?

I know this has been asked before, but was hoping a new thread might bring out some new solutions.

I've been searching high and low for a descent split-testing plug-in for wordpress but having little luck. Found one that looked great, but every one is saying it doesn't work. Another one was sold out. Others are hosted services that get pretty expensive.

Also, I am having a hard time wrapping my head around G's new content experiments. Sure not like the old website optimizer and not very useful for wordpress blogs. Unless I am just not getting it.

The one split testing plug-in I've been using is way to simple. While it's better than nothing, I'd sure like to see more data and stats.

I'm just amazed there are not more plug-in out there.

Any one have any suggestions?

  • I'm not sure which plugin you are already using that you said is way too simple, but I've been using WordPress › MaxA/B « WordPress Plugins to do some simple split testing. It does the job for what I'm trying to accomplish.

    • Bingo. The other plugins out there are split-testing your themes but in your case you just may need that free plugin.

I've used it in my experience before and it's gotten me the exact results I needed to measure my conversions per my page(s).

    • Thanks Jason. I did check out that plug-in a while back. I think I didn't use it because it used variation "pages", I was looking for some thing I could use on one page, like snippets, like the one I am currently using. But it is better than one I am using, so I'll give it another go.

Thanks for reminding me about that one
  • Great link, Jason! I saved it for later!!!! (:
  • Your'e welcome everyone! If any of you need some guidance on setting up/configuring it, just drop me a PM.
  • Don't know if you've seen Jason Fladlien's Split Tester Pro. I have not used it, but Jason has been in IM a long time and knows what he's doing.

I think it's hosted, maybe not. But the price increases with the number of pages or sites which may not be appealing. Maybe worth checking out.

    • Thanks Ken.

It looks interesting. Although there isn't much info on the page about it, doesn't tell much. Like to at least seem a demo, or more how it works. Maybe some one here has used it and give some insight.
  • I found this earlier but didn't post it because it's from a site that wrote a review about it. Not my site, but this is an affiliate link - not mine.

It's a sales letter from Jason and gives a lot more information.

    • Thanks Ken! I appreciate it.

That sure tells alot more about the plug-in. In comparing the two though, actually seems the max a/b plug-in actually has more features than the paid one.

Not too much, just the Statistical Significance numbers, which is kind of nice. Plus with the Max plug-in you can stop the test at a preset traffic amount.

  • Why not use a real split testing software such as Experimently |Website Testing Made Easy or http://optimizely.com

Adding "another" plugin is just adding more bloat to your website & possibly opening more security holes..

    • I'd rather buy a plug-in once instead of paying a monthly fee that could get costly.

I appreciate you posting the links. Those look to be great services. I'll have to see if they provide something that make sit worth it.
