Do you like Joomla 1.5?

INTERNET MARKETING

Now that Joomla 1.5 has been out for awhile, I am curious what users think of it?

I haven't done anything in Joomla since they went from 1.0 to 1.5 and I just wonder if I am missing out.

Any comments?

Funny you should say that because I liked 1.0 much, much better. I quit when they went to 1.5.

  Uhh u said you hadn't done anything since the release of 1.5 and that is why u were asking for opinions. I spent a lot of time in the Joomla! forums and I don't hear of (m)any users grumbling about 1.5. I really don't know what there is NOT to like about it.

It is a million times better than 1.0. I have a few sites on it and they are all great. Keep up with security and make sure your hosting is excellent. If its a host like 1and1.com then forget it, you are asking to get pwned.

It's like nite and day clearly 1.5 is tons better, I dabbled with 1.0 and hated it, with the release of 1.5 I may never go back to plain HTML site or any other CMS. Take a look at just one of the sites that I have in my signature.

  A little off topic.....
  
  I'm trying to install joomla now through fantastico, I would like it in the root of my domain but it tells me the installation can not be complete because there is already a public_html folder.
  
  Not sure why, but I tried to delete the public_html and install again, but as I thought it did not work. Ended up having to term the account with the host and reinstate.
  
  I got it installed on an alternate directory, but I want it on the home page.
  
  How do I do this?

I prefer 1.5. More templates are now using 1.5

HA!!!

Figured it out!!!!

For anyone else having this problem, you have to open your public_html file and delete the images folder from FTP. This is for a Joomla 1.5 install through Fantastico.

Uhmmm... I don`t think this is good either. Just create a new folder within public_html for your domain and install Joomla! there. Otherwise, when you go to add on other domains the folder is going to be rather messy.

Yeah I love Joomla 1.5 and swear by it.

The members area of the website in my sig is created with it.

There's a few restrictions in some respects, but there's always a work-around.

Best thing since sliced bread

I don't touch Joomla now...

I had a membership using joomla 1.5 as my member area (with a nice paid theme), and it suddenly stopped to work.

Same for one of my client.

It's just my experience though.
