Domain name question??

Others have mentioned that you need your keywords in the domain name.
Say I have keyword1keyword2
Is it ok to have - between the keywords?
If a .com or .org is not available, is it a disadvantage to use other extensions like .ca or .info
Or is it best to add another keyword and go for a .com name?

i would personally go for a .com name. So many more people have exposure to it, and it is more of a 'norm' to people using the internet. It is not as such a disadvantage; it is the mere fact that people are warmer to .com's and will succumb to them, because that is all they know....if that makes sense?!

    take care :-)

I believe your domain name is not really a huge factor as per dose it have your keyword in it. There are plenty of popular sites that did not have a keyword to start with such as twitter or youtube etc etc. Its not about what your domain name is its about content but always go with a .com as everyone always goes to that first before a .net or .biz

Dashes don't hurt your site's search engine rankings, but they don't look good and make the domain name harding to remember. People are more likely to trust .com domains and domains which don't have dashes or numbers in them, but none of these things will affect your SEO efforts.

I have bought net and org if it has the keywords that I really want, but I hate hyphens. I wouldn't consider buying one of the .cc or other extensions with the only exception to that is I buy co.uk when I'm targeting a UK market. Having your keywords in your domain name is an advantage in Google and I know how hard it can be to find a .com with popular keywords. Sometimes I keep digging for hours to find something I'm happy with.

I personally dislike the dashes because it's awfully awkard to say it out loud to someone. Try spelling out a domain name with more than one dash and you'll grimace!
