Hey warriors

Just wondering if MacroMedia Dreamweaver 8.0 is a good idea to create one of my websites. Do any of you use this? It seems quite complicated but i like it..

I use Adobe Dream Weaver and Photoshop at the moment.

I use Dream weaver and then photoshop and image ready to boost up the look of images and feel for a site.
Free sources I do not know of to many however there are a ton of free hosting companies like angelfire.com is where I honestly learned how to write html and start understanding the code on my own many years ago

dreamweaver is amazing for creating sites/landing pages. It can be overwhelming at first, but just get some simple tutorial videos.

If you go to this link Macromedia Dreamweaver - Using Dreamweaver MX tutorials

you will find tutorials for dreamweaver.

    :-)

I started with Dreamweaver, but I code HTML by hand now. I use either Notepad++ or NetBeans, but that's mainly because I'm a PHP developer.

What I don't like about Dreamweaver, or any program like that, is that it encourages bad habits. DW is notorious for cranking out invalid HTML. Most people probably don't care, but I like my sites to validate.

Also, DW becomes a crutch and people make all table-based websites. The future is XHTML+CSS, so becoming dependent on DW to create your table-based websites is going to bite you in the butt sooner or later. Better to learn HTML basics and learn CSS REALLY well.

DW is an industry standard and I don't know where I would be without it, however - things change.

If you want FREE and you are going to have a learning curve anyway, then learn Joomla! This is an open source CMS website builder that can be learned at least as easily as DW, but has huge growth potential for any of your websites. Thousands of templates are available and a massive open soucre resource for free add-ons and features.

    Best of luck either way.
