PLR Premade Niches--could you advise me?

Hi Folks
Is it possible, if you have some skill in wordpress, photoshop, writing and keyword research (as well as writing) to buy PLR premade sites and get them to earn a little without much fuss?

I spend too much time researching and building niche sites, and then they often flop. I thought, maybe it's better to buy them and customize.

I would love to have a bunch of sites that make even a dollar a day, and just have a corral of them. Then I can flip them or what have you.

And if anybody has a "best practices" ebook or what have you for this, I'd love to buy it.

I'd love people's thoughts on this. Please chime in.
Mark

PLR is risky because there are people on this forum selling PLR stuff that is actually content stolen from other sites.

DMCA complaint = strong chance of AdSense ban.

And there are many who are selling PLR who would NEVER sell stolen content. Me, included.

I agree PLR is risky, it would be better investing the time in conducting some proper market research into a niche to see if there is a demand for anything. Just because someone is selling PLR does not mean there is a hungry market associated with it and you can never tell if the content is stolen, duplicated or been sold a million times.

PLR is great if you know how to use them. They are already researched content, so they can save you bouts of time. That said, they are meant to be rewritten before use, not to be used as is. You don't want duplicate content on your site.

I agree with Bluestarace. Using PLR is ok if you rewrite it into your own unique content.

If you get great PLR (and not crap PLR), it can provide you with some good info that you can then change into your own words and add your own twist to.

PLR blogs are no different than any other blog except that the design and some starter content has already been done. They require the same amount of effort to promote as any other blog. You need to add your own unique content to them and promote them to get them earning. As for people saying they have stolen content ... BS. I know a lot of people who sell PLR and PLR blogs here and don't sell stolen content.

In one niche, one of my customers is making $1,500/mnth in affiliate commissions from a blog he bought from me. It took him around 6 months to get it there, but obviously worth the time.

PLR blogs are pretty easy to find. My recommendation would be to go into a single niche and get a decent PLR pack. After you set up your site and have your content uploaded all you need to do is build your audience and drive traffic.

After you have traffic coming in you need to figure out how you are going to monetize your traffic as well (build your list, affiliate marketing, create a product, etc.)

      Mark:

I have always been an advocate of doing what you love and what you are good at -- so if you don't like doing research and "creating" the site and/or product, then either use PLR or get those tasks done through outsourcing.

Whether you choose PLR or outsourcing, the same advice applies: find a source you are comfortable with (that will give you high quality content - unique if it is done through outsourcing.)

I think PLR is a workable alternative if you buy the site from a seller that is reputable. As others have said, if you can can rewrite or revise the material to fit your persona, that is a positive step toward being unique.

Here's the thing about PLR: most PLR buyers never do a thing with their purchases. I know you can sell high quality PLR material, even if it hasn't been revised, if you are good at driving target leads to the web site.

If most PLR buyers don't do anything with their purchases, then the few that do, compete for all the sales. But of those that compete, how many are great at driving targeted traffic? Only a very few.

So in reality, when folks use the argument that PLR is no good because everyone has equal access to it . . . just remember that equal access means little. What is really important is that you can send traffic to your sites on a consistent targeted basis, and the more the better!

      Good luck to you.

It's a good basis to start with and as long as you add quality andbunique content you will do ok....

    I don't steal content either....

Aiming for a $1 site isn't recommended. You might be better off selling your own $7 ebook. You'd be able to put your all into that 1 site, and monetize it quickly - and also get lots of backend sales.

    Thanks for all the feedback!

Here's the intended method, since I've actually launched 5 sites using it.
-I bought 26 PLR sites on various evergreen topics.
-picked the one I liked to do first, which was mental health
-used micro niche finder to find a good keyword that could become a domain.
-keyword for domain had to include keyword, and be .com
-keyword had to have upwards of 2000 searches, but not be aged necessarily.
    -bought domain.
    -installed PLR site
-IMMEDIATELY changed the clickbank, adsense and other code.
-Changed LOGO ( I was a designer and photoshop artist in NY for 20 years, so it's easy)
-added a stats plugin and a few others.
-added syndicator plugin and added twitter account with keyword.
-did some www.howismysite.com to get indexed.
So, this is a PLR site, with a few css color changes, a new URL and a custom logo
    =====
    NOW,
here is were I want to see if it's a decent strategy
    =====
-I saw on fiverr that I can have 10 articles rewritten to pass copyscape.
-the Site comes with 20, so I'll spend $10 and do all 20.
that should give me arguably original content if it passes copyscape.
-then use fiverr to begin to do backlinking, I have a provider in mind.
-If the site starts to produce I'll add 20 more original copyscape checked articles on the subject.
-If the magic starts to happen, add more articles, curate some articles, etc. Make it a good site.
-If it starts to earn, I'll keep it for a while, then FLIP it when I feel the time is right.

I've been fondly calling it the Christmas Tree method.

Please comment and or critique. I love to build, and have had success on flippa. but it irks me that I have trouble with getting niche or authority sites to earn.

My family built houses when I was young, and we had crews of amish that built them by hand. But the fact is you can get factory built houses that can be customized with whatever you want and they are actually better than the hand built. And require less effort, actually.

Basically, I need to get to 2000 per month for sustainability, and love to build.

Hey Randall! Great idea, and I've already written it. I'll send you a copy via pm and you can tell me what you think. It's all about my adventures in focus groups on Madison Avenue.

      Sounds good,
How do you plan to monetize it?
Are you going to build a list?

An idea for easy articles, pick up good youtube videos in the subject and post them with comments about the subject, etc.

        Hi!
        thanks for the reply

monetize with adsense and clickbank to start, maybe something else.
I've never been good at traffic, so I want to get better at that.

Yes, I've got to build a list that's there too. Each site might have one and offer a freebie.
        Great idea on the youtube.

And no crappy rewrites, has to be decently written, and copyscape pass.

The only thing I can add is that 10 articles rewritten for $5 are likely to be really crappy rewrites, most likely from someone who's first language is not English. Better articles will drive more traffic and repeat visitors and lead to a higher resell value in the flipping marketplace. When I'm going to buy a site, I actually do read the articles and if they're junk, I move on. Anyone can fill a blog up with junk.

Haha, right, I just found out the hole in my cheese!
Nobody on Fiverr will write or rewrite 10 copyscape passed articles manually for 5 bucks. I asked a few providers and they just add code.

I have a killer writer here in the Philippines who can do the work, it will just be more of an investment. No big deal, I guess.

I just want to see if the sites rise a bit and get traffic and revenue before I sell them. Seems to work better on both ends.

If I sell the site I want the articles to be unique rewritten. Meaning well rewritten. I just can't sell what I wouldn't buy myself.
