Since this is the first time that I'm using press releases as a marketing tool, I could really use some advice.

I've already purchased two press releases through PRweb. My intention is to get traffic for Black Friday (23rd of November) sales.

My site is only monetized with Amazon affiliate links. So my question is, should I run the ad prior to Black Friday or should the ad come out on the official Black Friday shopping day?

I'm not sure how PRweb articles appear in Google organic search results for keywords or phrases. Since Amazon affiliate cookies only last 24 hours, I'm trying to get the best results for the press releases.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    My advice to you would be to contact an advertising manager at PR Web and get your press release approved so that it will be ready on the day of.

    If you have 2 press releases you should probably release them both on Black Friday, in the morning, and target different sets of keywords.

    Not sure how competitive Black Friday keywords are but you should do a little research first.

        Press Releases are a great way to drive traffic, but you're going to have to have it "keyworded" correctly depending what you're looking to promote. The rules that apply to ranking any web property, also apply to PR's, although the PR will react much more quickly.

        Have you looked into doing any back linking to your PR ? That would certainly help out your ranking along with a tightly keyworded PR... although it will be a bit tricky on the timing of the launch of the PR.

    Check with PRWeb but I cannot imagine that the article appearing on Black Friday would help. I think normal people are out doing Black Friday stuff then and not web surfing (though maybe from their mobiles?).

    I bet the article would get better response if it came out Tues or Wed so that the syndicating meda sites can time it best.
