Should You Post Articles To Your Site As Well As Article Directories?

Hi Warriors...
Just curious to know whether you should have the articles you publish in various article directories also published on your site (ie www.YourSite.com/articles/article.html )

=> then bookmark the article using OnlyWire etc?

You would then have the same article on all the different article sites AS WELL as on your own site.

It may sound like a silly question but I just wanted to get your feedback on this one.

:-) Beaumont

I'd say yes, as long as you make the version different. There have been members on here complaining about being unable to post to ezines because they have already posted to somewhere else, including their own sites.

Always work on building your own sites. Here are organic traffic stats from one of my sites in February:

    Google 542 542
    - Windows Live 67 67
    - MSN Search 60 60
    - Unknown search engines 9 9
    - AOL 8 8
    - Ask 4 4
    - Netscape 3 3
    - Digg (Social Bookmark) 1 1
    - Yahoo! 1 1
    - Shaw.ca 1 1

Nothing massive, but 542 straight up clicks from Google itself without paying a dime. Build your sites. It takes time for them to build up, but personally I wish I had built way more sites now with my own articles on them.

submit them and get them accepted first. Then rewrite your articles to be a bit different and post them on your site.

It depends on how high your sites rank. Once upon a time I had one blog that was getting 1,000+ uniques per day on average before it got google slapped. I discovered that when I submitted articles, my own articles in article directories outranked my own blog that otherwise ranked #1 on Google. I stopped submitting articles and posted every new article on my blog since and lived happily ever after until google shuffle that killed it (but it lasted for a year and a half)

Use your common sense and do what seems more appropriate for YOUR OWN SITUATION

This is what I do but I make sure the articles on my websites are re-written to avoid 'clashing' with the ezine article
