Clickbank Strategy Questions.... Need your thoughts

Hey all,

Kinda sad that I'm sitting here on a Friday night...instead of doing more productive things, like having fun.

But anyway, my business generates very professional analysis reports of hundreds of different industries that are used by accountants, lawyers, investment bankers and finance professionals. I have about 10-12 different products.

I'm trying to visualize how I would set up a sales funnel using Clickbank, and I had a few questiosn.

1. Would products like these get noticed on Clickbank, or would they be 'out of place' there?
2. Would I have a single account for all products, and then have a single squeeze page that listed each of them & their hoplink?
3. What sort of commission rates would this need to attract interest?
4. Any specific activities I should do, to attract the attention of affiliates?

Anxious to hear your thoughts.

  • Nothing sad about passing up on a night out, to make money.

    1) Maybe noticed more here as a WSO
    2) Alot use multiple accounts, but not necessary
    3) 75%
    4) Great sales copy and funnel, get your gravity up. Alot of top sellers on clickbank, always use a script to add an affiliate name if there isn't any, to the sale, to bring up the gravity.

    • Can you elaborate on this? Not sure what this is.
  • 1. They probably won't get much traction all by themselves. You'll have to make people notice them.
    2. Not sure about the question.
    3. 50-75% is pretty much standard on CB.
    4. You need to recruit them. Getting affiliates is pretty much like building a sales force or recruiting distributors to a MLM.
  • Only if your product will get a good "gravity"..
  • Banned
They'd be "unusual" there, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing, and doesn't necessarily make ClickBank a bad place for them.

To customers, they're not "ClickBank products" at all: they're simply "products on a business's website with ClickBank used as the payment processor".

Strictly speaking, products aren't noticed "on ClickBank" because products aren't "on ClickBank": the sales pages of "ClickBank products" remain on their vendors' sites, not on ClickBank's site, and vendors still have to attract their own customers and/or affiliates, as anywhere.

It's true that some affiliates do search ClickBank's marketplace, and you might pick up an affiliate or two "just by being listed there".

One of the potential advantages to you, of using ClickBank, is that with relatively high-priced items (I'm guessing?) you'll need serious pro-affiliates, and serious pro-affiliates are exactly the ones who like to use ClickBank products because of the prompt and efficient payment guarantee without being dependent on the vendor for payment of their commissions.

One of the disadvantages is the relatively high transaction charges.

You're allowed up to 500 products within one account, provided that they all share one Marketplace listing and one commission-rate, but this probably isn't the way to go. Separate accounts for separate products are a lot more convenient. Additional ones after the first cost $29.95 each. (Or you can buy and use software such as "Easy Click Mate" to cope with having them all in one account).

You wouldn't want a squeeze page at all, though: almost no serious pro-affiliate is willing to promote a product for which the vendor has even an opt-in on the sales page, let alone a squeeze page. This is very fully discussed and explained here: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...oduct-opt.html

You don't "list hoplinks", per se: affiliates have to create their own hoplink to each product they wish to promote (it's a simple, one-click operation with which all affiliates are familiar).

That clearly depends on the prices.

30% of $97 pays the affiliates more than 75% of $27 (and might even attract "better affiliates", too, albeit fewer of them. But that doesn't matter too much: about 5% of the affiliates there make about 95% of the sales anyway).

(ClickBank may not accept a first product, from a "new vendor", priced over $50, but it's negotiable with them, and if you can show them a record of successful trading they can vary this).

A huge subject. Yes, you'll need to attract affiliates, of course. This forum's search function may help: there are about 100 threads with titles like "How Do I Attract Affiliates?".

"Professional analysis reports of hundreds of different industries that are used by accountants, lawyers, investment bankers and finance professionals" sound quite interesting to me. If they're high-priced products, and if you do decide to use ClickBank, I'd welcome a private message from you giving further details (but probably best not to post much about them, in case it comes across as "promotional").

    Good luck!
  • For the type of niche you are working with, you may want to consider some more serious type of affiliate programs. I am sorry to say, but I do not trust all clickbank products and I know there are other products out there that are well focused on business and attorneys.
On top of that, make sure you separate your list from accountant subscribers and attorney subscribers so you can send them targeted affiliate links to other related affiliate products.
  • 1. Would products like these get noticed on Clickbank, or would they be 'out of place' there?

Any digital product can be listed on Clickbank

    2. Would I have a single account for all products, and then have a single squeeze page that listed each of them & their hoplink?

You can have a single account for all your products. You can only have one single marketplace listing for one account though.

    3. What sort of commission rates would this need to attract interest?

    Anything above 50%. Typically 75%.

    4. Any specific activities I should do, to attract the attention of affiliates?

You will probably not get a lot of qualified affiliates just by posting the product in Clickbank. You have to contact possible partners and attract them into promoting your product, transform customers into affiliates, have a professional affiliate page -- maybe some of your website visitors are interested in promoting your product, hire a JV manager whose solely job is to attract and keep affiliates motivated...
