Facebook ads or Sitescout for newbie

I've got a whole backend in place, 7 day video email course and landing page, targeted at men wanting lose weight.

I want to get started with display ads and payed traffic, I like the look of facebook ads and sitescout, both look awesome to get started with.

What do you recommend?

Facebook sounds good, although i hear they are insanely strict, i'd like to hear opinions from people who have used both facebook and sitescout.

I think you ll have a harder time to get your ads approved on FB, but it may be worth it.

You won t be able to target your audience the same way on both platform. So you may ask yourself who your audience is in more details.

Men wanting to loose weight is way too broad. How could you target them?

Are they in their 30s, 50s, married, divorced, diabetic, etc...?

If you know their age, FB will make it easy to target an age group, SS won't.

If they re divorced and over 50, you may easily find where they hang out online and be able to easily reach them with SS and set up some retargeting as well.

    Hope this helps!

Try Adwords and Bing Ads. Monitor your FB ads results versus the results you get from Bing Ads and Adwords.

I have used both adwords and FB ads. In my experience FB approves ads much faster, Google seems to take forever. Also if done correctly FB ads can be much much less costly then adwords and can be highly targeted. FB ads do however have a tendency to convert low if you link directly to a website or sales page.

Sitescout is not for a newbie but with right guidance you can make a killing with it. However, its one heck of a platform when it comes to traffic. Billions of impressions available and if you are good with media buying, there is no stopping.

What I like the most is, no stupidity like banned accounts or support issues. You need $500 to start with sitescout and you get a personal rep who will help you.

I have spent well over 6 figures now on that platform and its solid. If I get some time, I would come out with a free ebook on sitescout media buying for all of you :-)

I think Facebook would be a better options but you have to be more demographically specific on your target audience.

Just wanted to chime in here and say that we just soft-launched our demographic targeting feature last week, so it's available to all users.

Here is a screenshot of how it looks:

There are also dozens of other categories that are not shown in this screenshot.

We will be announcing it officially very soon.
