Online Marketing Is NOT Cheap

Many of people ask me, is that online marketing is a free marketing? My answer is Yes/NO. Here is the reason.

Actually, other than your fixed IT costs, online marketing can be free. However, do not fall into the trap of believing that online marketing costs nothing. The reason is that where it’s free it requires an investment of time, for example producing high-quality newsletters, writing blog content, building up your email list.

You need to understand that where it’s inexpensive it usually requires you to invest in some other area. For example, online advertising space may be relatively low cost, but it becomes expensive if no one who clicks on your ads and visits your sites buys anything simply because you have built your site for on the cheap.

Therefore, if you want online marketing to be successful for you, you need to be prepared to invest time and money. Remember, it can be cost-effective, but it’s not cheap.

Bests,
Marcus

Much more than the cost of online marketing, the time that it takes is too much. So, if you actually think of the fact that the time is money, then it does cost a lot of money.

The problem is that people want to make money online but they are not willing to pay any money or invest their time in it.

They sign up with affiliate marketing and post 1 classified ad. They did that for 10 minutes and then they expect to get sales.

Most people are not willing to invest in the tools that are necessary to succeed like:

    Their own website.

    Their own auto-responder.

Market with paid media like pay per click.

They are not willing to create videos and upload them online.

They sure don't want to spend any money in any tool that will only help them move forward.

I heard from a recent interview from John Reese and Frank Kern that over 70% of the people who get into online marketing, never do anything. They don't believe it will work and they are not willing to do what ever it takes.

EVERY business has expenses right? If you are not willing to run your online business like a "real" business, then it's just a hobby, and you can cut corners. But yeah, there are definitely costs involved.

You can try to view your time working online like this...

Yes online marketing is cheap, especially in terms of starting one offline. All you need is domain name, hosting, and an auto res ponder.

Now you may be viewing internet marketing as something neither free or cheap, because your spending your own free time writing content. You are right - in this sense internet marketing is not cheap or free, because you spend hours writing, or producing movies.

Now the key is to work SMART not hard...

For example spend around 45 minutes creating a well written article that is full of rich unique content. Now you can use that same content and distribute it in different ways such as:

      1. A blog post
      2. A magazine article
      3. A press release
      4. A podcast
      5. A YouTube video
      6. A Facebook post
      7. A Twitter post
      8. A transcript
      9. A Scribd article

Also remember once you have an article or video - it is online forever. So you work hard now so you can reap the benefits later.

      Hope you found this useful!

  • But money is also important.

For instance, imagine selling a product on the warriorforum to fellow warriors

    1. You need a WSO listing - $40
    2. You need to send traffic to the thread
    3. You could use your email list or are forced to buy solo ads - more $
    4. Buy ad space - even more $$
    5. Buy expensive tools to test, optimize and catalogue traffic - $$$

Whichever way you look at it, the process of marketing is no free ride.
You must shell out some money at some stage. I am in the 70% who don't buy anything. I am not proud of it and it is not because i am stingy. Let us just leave it at "if i could i would".

I do know that most of us "70%ers "are smart enough to recognize the value of these tools and the great advantage of being one step ahead in this industry, as it was in the industries we came from.
