It's scaring how a person can collect so many data and sell them for litteraly nothing!

My guess is that the majority of the profiles are fake/bot profiles.

And they will probably get shut down sooner then later.

Just like those websites that claim something like:

Need traffic? We will send you 10,000 HOT visitors for just $49.

For someone new, they will go for it and learn the hard way that these are not real people and just computer generated traffic.

Any newbie will jump on this. That I know for sure because I was one of them when I got started and learned that this type of traffic is BAD.

Lol even more so is why the hell people buy these.

How much can you honestly expect to make from spam accounts and sending them unsolicited crap that they don't want to see or buy?

I would rather buy a targeted list of 10 people who are interested in a product or a niche than 1 million random people. If 1,000 of those are even real accounts.

      I'd agree.

Yet people do the same thing in backlinking. They build random links on sites that don't even relate to their niche.

Same goes in almost any industry, there are complete fools who think they can skip all the hard work and cheat their way to the top, rather actually provide value and reason behind what they're doing.

Ten? Heck, I'd buy a list of one... and I often do - so do many professionals. Mortgage brokers, realtors, and lawyers often buy leads one at a time (and pay dearly for them).

not always bot accounts, there were hackers there selling hacked accounts for the usage in facebook likes bot, thousands of them, and the problem is that the real owners don't know that there accounts are hacked and they continue to use them!

    How can you protect yourself?

Be mindful of the apps you connect to your Facebook account. Only use apps you trust from established publishers, and even then, don’t connect many of them.

Check your apps often and remove unwanted or unknown applications. Go to your Privacy Settings, click Ads, Apps and Websites and remove apps that you’re not using or that may have been connected to your account unintentionally.

Control what your friends’ apps can see about you. Even if you don’t have apps connected to your account, the private information you only share with friends might be accessible to the apps they are using. Turn this data off by editing the settings in How people bring your info into apps they use.

Turn off the Facebook Platform. If you never use any apps or games, you can completely disable the Facebook Platform, which will cut your private data off from third party developers completely. Click Turn off your ability to use apps… in the first section.

What would people even do with an account that's setup like that?? spam, spam and more spam I suppose...total waste of time imo...Stay focused on your targeted audience is my philosophy.
