Is having the company name on domain bad for promoting there products?

As the title says

Is having the company name on the domain

"Company name" sells X product

So I got a domain that has "companyname+a general keyword"

Is there anything wrong now with this? As in drivin traffic and promoting there products on say amazon etc.

The company itself has a crap Seo plan, there doing more direct marketing, I think I can easily rank up keywords related there products.

Any advise ? Thanks!

Never good to use a company name or brand on a domain. Can be some legal issues in the future

It's trademark infringement. They could sue you or file a UDRP and take the domain from you. In addition, Amazon does not allow affiliates to use trademark domains and will ban your account.

Most vendors have explicit TOS telling you that you can't use their trade name and many also stipulate that you can't even bid on their trade name using PPC.

Not even company name + review as the root URL.

The fine for Trade Mark infringement starts at $100,000.

Not a very good idea at all.

A ton of people get domains with the company name in it and make a ton of money from it.

    But.....

Some affiliate networks (programs) allow trademark name in affiliate domains and some don't. Be on the safe side and get permission first or make sure it's allowed.

source: been doing it myself for a few years now and never had any problems.

Another thing to think about is sometimes once you hit the top buying keywords in Big G for the #1 spot, then the company notices and they end your affiliate account for no reason. Which they can do since their policy will say termination at anytime and for any reason. That's why I suggest you get permission first.

    Just something to chew on.

This is the best route to take when buying domains with company names on them. The companies with affiliate programs attached to them absolutely want their affiliates to make them more money but if it takes their share of profits (meaning splitting the sale with you), especially when and if you reach #1 on Google, some would rather discredit your link and get the full sale amount.

Some companies will be okay with it, but some will not so it's best to ask them first before investing the money into the domain.
