Do you like the new "Hello Bar" on top of the WF pages?

Hey there,

Do you like the new "Hello Bar" on top of the WF pages?

Web Toolbar - Get More Clicks with the Hello Bar Notification Bar

Do you think it increases conversions?

Do you have any experience using it on your sites?

Thx in advance,

Adam

It worked great for a notice about a new forum opportunity.

But, I'm currently very annoyed at seemingly every website having bars at the top and/or bottom of the screen that need to be clicked for removal. Vertical screen space on a computer has always been at a premium, and the bars cut into it.

Just to read anything I need to click off a bar, then I need to click no to a pop-up about signing up for a list or taking a survey. At that point I usually click the back button and look for a more user-friendly site with the information.

I agree. I've tried both Viperbar and Hellobar. Both work great, but Viperbar takes the biscuit in my opinion.

I think it offers an opportunity to stay on top of the new changes and updates in the Warrior Forum. In other words... it offers an opportunity to stay on top of the marketplace.

I don't actually agree with that. Since the bar always stays the same color and in the same position people will become blind to it like I have already.

It was only the other day that I noticed the message on the bar had changed because I wanted to access the 'Suggestions' forum that had previously been advertised in the bar. Had I not actually looked at the bar on purpose I wouldn't have noticed it's now promoting the 'Web Hosting' forum.

It always looks the same so you tend to skip over it after a while.

I haven't used it on any of my sites, so I can't comment on conversion rates.

As far as it being used on the WF goes, well, it doesn't really bother me when it's minimized. On the other hand, it doesn't really bother me when it's not minimized either.

I think it's a good idea here because of the recent offer Allen made for Warriors to create new subforums. It's a great way to notify all Warriors of new sections that they may not otherwise be aware of.

    All the best,
    Michael

I actually do like it, because just like Randall said it's a great way to announce any changes to the site.

I can also see how it can be used in other ways.

But you this is going to be one of those things that a lot of IM marketers overdue, and misuse.

But this is where you have to do your own testing and see how it works for your site.

I noticed one of the warriors shared a link for a free version.

Maybe test out the free version first, and if that helps improve your conversions, then use the paid version.
