I need to move my hosting somewhere else!

I am using Hostgator at the moment, but there's a problem with one of my sites, and even they can't fix it and I've had enough!

I pay $9.95 for a baby croc account, so I need something similar if not better than that service.

I just want hosting that if there's a problem it can get fixed and someone knows what they are doing.

The problem I'm having is that one of the domains brian-morgan.info keeps going to this directory /IWT/index.php automatically and it's not meant to do that. Also at this time the technician has exposed my index files and not even bothered to tell me what's happening after a hour's silence!

I want a host that is like baby croc. I login no problems and upload files not problem, no downtime etc, etc.

Thanks in advance

Brian

Ps I know you get what you pay for ..BUT!

I had a lot of trouble with HostGator a while back.

Then I tried Dreamhost for my shared hosting needs - definitely recommend them.
I have contacted their support many times and they have always replied and fixed whatever I needed within an hour or two, max 6 - 8 hours.

Your webspace and bandwidth allotment increases at a ridiculous rate each month for free as well.

With offline clients I deal with a lot
      of hosting companies.

Before signing up anyplace else check to see
where there support comes from, most support
      is not in the US.

I have a friend that swears by Me Host.

I agree with Sean about Dream Host, however
be warned they do not use cpanel.

      Service is great.

The domain is sound. If you look at it with Fire Fox, it's skewed, but not in IE for some reason.

Can anyone verify this? Welcome To http://www.brian-morgan.info/ in either Fire Fox or IE - Tell me what do you see? You should see this

In Fire Fox the url takes me to Brian's Insane Instant Website Templates Sale!!! (I am not asking you to buy anything!) I'm only showing you.

        G`day Brian,

yeah mate, redirects to the index.php in IWT folder ... you`ll
probably find because you have a htaccess file for your IWT folder
pointing to your index.php page may be causing it ... you don`t have
a htaccess file at the root of the domain do you?

D'uh! Your are probably right! It's okay if it says index.html but not index.php. I'm going to check it out now!

          Thank you so much

          Brian
Ps Someone was saying nice things about you I remember now

PPS No! It reads "DirectoryIndex index.html"

            G`day Brian,

hmmm, the htaccess file I checked out on your site read
            "DirectoryIndex index.php" ... in the IWT folder ... couldn`t
"find" any other htaccess file but I still think this is part of
            if not the problem.

PM me if you still need some help ...

How odd. In Chrome I see it OK. In both FF and IE I get the templates website.

It is odd and also very annoying, unfortunately! Wondering if moving host is going to solve the problem?

Looks exactly as you've shown in Firefox. Don't see a problem. Maybe you've fixed it already?

I'm currently using Dreamhost, I've been very happy with their service. Very easy to get in contact with, they answer my emails within the hour.

Try Iplus Digital. Solid hosting solutions and they have quite a few IM's on their servers.

It was just the opposite when I checked. IE8 took me to the templates site, but Firefox did not.

The plan you have allows for unlimited addon domains. If it's an addon domain, delete it, then add it on again. Sometimes, I have to do that to square something away on the server.

Everyone has different experiences with everything, including web hosting. Nobody, including web hosts, do everything perfect all of the time. So, what's the point in changing if this is the only glitch you've had?

I currently use a bunch of different hosts. Had trouble with Dreamhost, but it's been ok. I like Powweb, Hostmonster and LunarPages.

I have had problems with hostgator as well. For now I'm going to hang in there because I'm not really finding a better all around value. I'm currently looking into bluehost but I can't give it the thumps up yet.

What if you will need to try all webhosting or read the testimonies of other users from each webhosting so that you can chose which of those to use for your website to be hosted. There is no wrong in trying so may webhostings because you are just making it sure that it really works and can answer all your problems.

Whether it's a problem specific to HostGator or not I suggest you switch hosts. Based on the negative feelings portrayed in the replies here, their support sucks. Also, Host Monster's plan is cheaper and you get more out of it!

Wish I could help with the problem, but I have no clue what's going on - trés bizarre.
