Help with how to make this idea work

Hi guys,

I have some ideas for growing my existing online retail business by letting other sell the product I sell and this is the bit where I need some help/ideas!

I have a supplier who will make my product to order and offer me a wholesale rate. I would like to offer this to other shops/sellers so they can do the same (they will just need to order in one sample or show an image to help get the orders), they can even have their own unique variation.

IYO do you think it would be best for me to take the orders and payment and then place the order with my supplier, have it shipped to me and forward it (means more work for me), or would I be best having them place the order directly with my supplier and they pay me a commission for each sale (I would prefer this but not sure how I would track this and what stops customer going direct once they have contact with the supplier?)?

    I m not 100% clear with what you want to do, but I think you could do some dropshipping...

    That way you take the orders but don t have to handle the products...

    Yea drop shipping would be easier, but make sure you are in a drop shipping business that has products that can sell and are not being advertised by too many people.

      Thanks guys, yes I could take the orders and payment from my customers and then place them with my supplier and pay them myself but they are overseas so my customer is going to have all the details of the supplier when their parcel arrives which I would prefer to avoid. I wonder if there is some kind of shipping agent I can use in china which would help avoid this?

    Sounds complicated about what you want to do. I would choose a different business model in my opinion.

      Haha I think I have made it sound more complicated than it is. Basically I have designed a product/products and I have a supplier in china who makes them to order for me at wholesale prices. I now want to allow others to sell this product so I am trying to work out how best to arrange this. Hope this is bit clearer!

      This has been very successful for me, I am just trying to think of ways to expand it
