New Website Design Feedback

Hi,

The first one looks much better, very clean. Did you use a template, or design it yourself? The second one you've used the wrong set of fonts, so it doesn't look as professional.

The first 1 by a mile. With the 2nd my eye is wandering all over trying to figure out where I should be looking.

Thanks for the input guys! I def agree the first design is much better and it is what I will be using as the baseline for the site.

Imagine yourself not only as a season IM'er, but as a potential customer if you will...

With that in mind, any more pointers on what I could/should change to make it even better?

Here's some detailed feedback I have received. Agree, disagree, add to?

Just a few things from my initial look over:

- Alter the design of the boxes at the bottom to make them stand out more

- The "Live Chat" person should be real, not animated. it should be a pretty girl.

- No more "Pass the GMAT" button as it is too vague.

- An "FAQ" button is needed, maybe at the very top where the "home, contact us, and sitemap" links are located

- We will work on the final color scheme. The blue looks good though.

- I love the pencil picture. Design 3-4 more pictures that have the same type "message" and have them change every time someone comes to the site. They should be static (non-rotating) once the user is on the site.

- Have a place for a written testimonial (non-video) on the home page. Easily visible to the user. It would be great it to have them fade in and fade out on the screen with new ones every 5 to 10 seconds.

- The "Why We are Different" needs to be changed. The user needs to know immediatly what we do and won't take the time to read through that. See the knewton site's home page. Our tagline "Success Guaraneed" might look good there.

- Under the pencil picture. We need "75 ponts higher, guaranteed" instead of the "gain 75% more points." I liked the picture you had on the first example site. Don't know if it can be fit in here or not

- Instead of "GMAT Course", we will need a "live course" and "home-study course" buttons

- Use "About The GMAT Coach"



I think these are some great pointers that all warriors, whether you write on this thread or not can learn from it they ever wanted to help design their own site. I know I've learned a ton!

Definitely the first one, I love the image you have in the center of the page with the blue pencil. The color scheme looks much better and the whole page just looks more professional because its scroll-less.
