AMember Decision Time - Advice Needed

Hi guys/gals,

I am at a point of deciding to purchase AMember for a new feature at my blog. I took a
careful look at easy member pro and simple member pro ( they are both cool ) but they don't
meet with a couple of requirements that I have for my new feature so I decided against
them.

I have a couple of questions for the guys/gals that use AMemberPro for their membership
sites and I'd really appreciate any help:

1. AMember's integration with Aweber. How easy/hard was it to achive? I read somewhere
that it is against Aweber TOS to have scripts subscribe users this way. How has this been
overcome?

2. I read in a forum that the coupon system allows a coupon to last only a month before
the full price kicks in. What if you want to have a discount offer that is continuous? Some
people solved this by having a separate product with a discounted price. Any thoughts on
this?

3. Can people easily cancel subscriptions? Some people reported issues with unsubscribing
from amember ( on forums ).

4. Can you have multiple membership/subscription types? like a free area, $9/month area,
$19/month area etc

5. How hard/easy is it to integrate AMember with WordPress. Are there any limitations placed upon the software by use of Wordpress?

6. Share any experiences you had with AMember ( positive or negative ) that may affect my decision to buy.

Thanks in advance for any help!

John

    1. The easiest way is to put the aweber form on the thank you page template, where people arrive after joining.

    2. The basic coupons only apply the discount once, but they were going to enhance that to allow recurring coupons. Not sure if they did yet, but I find it just as easy to create another product with the pricing I want, then people don't have to mess with coupons.

    3. Some people have trouble following instructions. If you use Paypal, they can cancel it there. Or they could actually contact you and ask to cancel.

    4. Yes, as many as you want.

    5. There is a plugin for WP if you need people to be logged into it. If you just want them to read the blog, no need for a plugin.

    Hi John,

Amember does NOT intergrate with aweber. They drop incoming submission attempts by unauthorized third party scripts into the black hole by bouncing them.

However, if you use 1shoppingcart to send the subscriber data to aweber you might pull it off.

If you want a membership system that is truly integrated with Aweber there are very few choices... but my service at Nanacast offers true aweber integration as well as getresponse integration.

Our membership site creation and management system will add subscribers to your Aweber or Getresponse lists and it will also automatically remove them if they cancel or stop paying as well (optional).

Here is a video where I show you how to activate the Nanacast email parser which is available in all Aweber accounts:

I know this answer is not about amember... but NO third party script "integrates" with aweber. Only third party solutions that do are actually listed in your Aweber account in the Email parser page.

Additionally Nanacast requires no script to install, can set up memberships in minutes, has no limit on the number of membership sites you can create, and has a host of other features that go beyond other solutions on the market today.
