Procedure for Paypal Dispute Please Help

So I purchased a website that was proven to make $1000 in a few months, and get 8000 visitors in a couple of months..... seller showed proof via screencap.

So once I purchased this site, came to realize that the site was a dud, Im getting 5 visitors a day.... and no revenue....

I paid via paypal through my credit card.

My questions is:
What is the best way I can get my money back.

Paypal- Do I dispute it as "Item not as described" or " Item not received"???
Credit Card- Do I file a chargeback..??

PLEASE HELP!!

Paypal offers no protection for the buyer for intangible products, and I highly doubt the website seller would grant you a refund.

Your best bet is a credit card chargeback. How do you do it? Call your bank. Each bank has different policies regarding chargeback. For some, the procedure is impossible, for others is as easy as a phone call.

And this was all you needed to come to the conclusion that you could do it too?

And when this didn't happen, you wanted a refund?

    Wow.

How much did you pay for it?

You could do a credit card charge back and that will get you your money back.

CC chargeback is your only option.

    1. It's not to say the seller was lying. When you transfer websites and domains to new hosts this kind of thing can happen. The seller might also have been using paid traffic as well. Did you ask him that?

    2. Charge back from your credit card company. You will need to surrender the site back to him though.

CreditCard charge back is t he only best option I can see here. Also if you are trying to buy any blogs/sites try to use escrow services (which many of my friends have suggested).

Thanks for all the great advice.
I will call my credit card company and do a chargeback. What reason do I give my credit card company?

The first thing you should do is talk to the vendor and find out how he was generating traffic and revenue. Trying to get a charge back from the credit card company is the last resort, and certainly not the first course of action!

You should contact the seller and see what they have to say about the loss of traffic. You'll then discover what methods they were using to drive visitors to the site, and then you can do the same!

You could just contact the seller and tell him that you don't want to open a PayPal Dispute but you will If he doesn't refund you. Most of the time the seller will just refund you because they don't want the hassle of a PayPal Dispute.

People don't mention that part - you'll probably have to lie on the chargeback application. You'll have to say you didn't get the product, or didn't authorize purchase of the product - or that the product is fraudulent.

Have you contacted the seller? He may be able to help by telling you how he generated traffic. If he was hyping the site he may be willing to buy it back to prevent complaints.

It's worth a shot as filing chargebacks can reflect negatively on you with your CC company and with Paypal.

He could just say the product that was paid for was not delivered.

Technically that's true. He paid for a site he thought was earning x amount of dollars and instead received a site that was earning no dollars.

CC charge back will most likely work in your favor as buyers seem to have the benefit of the doubt when it comes to CC.

You don't simply ask for a refund because you think the site you purchased is a dud. Maybe you can ask the seller how he was able to come up with that much traffic while you failed. The seller could be using some sort of traffic generation strategy.
