Best paid or free Wordpress membership plugin?

I want to build a blog where only members will be able to access content, but the membership will be free. What's the best route to take to make sure people can only view blog content once they become a free member? If there is a good plugin that you know of, can you incorporate Aweber into it? To summarize, I want to build a blog with Thesis blog theme and incorporate a "gatekeeper" functionality into it to force people to sign up to view content.

        So, again. With Wishlist, can that be incorporated into a blog after a blog has gained authority and traffic or is it a plugin that needs to be used while INITIALLY building the site? Thank you.

    Try s2 Member. It works great! It even allows you to set the level of members as well. Gives you room to work with in the future if you plan on going the paid route. :-0)

    I have been using wishlist as a wordpress plugin and it's cool! It has a nice-looking settage and a friedly interface who lets you set everything you need. let me say that it's a MUST to have in order to make a membership!

    I am talking from experience here when i say

    fastmember - the security script

    optimize press - for the membership platform

    a few things which i will say though is

    outsource the build and set up if you`re not a techy person like me otherwise you will have no hair left after a week because you would of pulled it all out

    it`s very technical to set up but once it`s set up it works great

    i have used both of these for my membership and they work great
