Making My Name Clickable in Blog Comments?

hi folks,

another basic question...
thank you so much.. so great to have this community!

i see that on different blogs, some folks' names are clickable and some are not. i also see different types of plugins used for blog comments.

will this link always work in the "name" field? <ahref="http://www.yourwebsite.com">LinkTextGoesHere</a>

and what about when there is a field for "website?" does that just go to the blog owner but not show up in the comments?

    For the type of form you're describing, you need only put your name or anchor text in the "name" field, and your website address in the "web site" field and when you submit your comment, your name will be automatically hyper-linked.

    The code you have is something that would be used in the body of the comment, if allowed, not in the form itself.

    You can try [url=LINK]CAPTION[/url ] too if the HTML code doesn't work.

        Trust me, many comment forms use them too. Especially the old ones.

    Another thing you should do is link your email address to a free profile at Gravatar. Most blogs have this enabled so when you comment with that email address your avatar automatically shows.
