Never took this much out but its probably protection from money laundering. A bank would be the same

yeah there's like a " Personal Code " to create , but what's the difference if everytime you withdrawal 1k or 2k , the alarm of security launch :s, i know it's for OUR security but come on , he has like40.000 $ to withdrawal and he's suffering from something called " security "

    Make sure:

    -Your account is varied.
    -Tax Info is in Place.
    -Limits are lifted.
-Credit or debit is added to confirm ID.

You should not be having any problems if the above are in place.

You can withdraw balance everyday if you want.

They will need to verify the account as per the previous posts. Once PayPal see the relevant paperwork from your pal there will be no problem, ie: Social Security, Business registration papers (if a business account), confirmation of Identity (passport, driving license), utility bill in some cases etc. Everything they require is listed in the section where you verify your account, the requirements can and do vary from country to country.

Sounds strange though, if he has been earning this income consistently then he should have previously verified the account. If it were his first period of such big earnings then that wouldn´t be a shock. Once an account has hit or gone over the PP unverified threshold there are requirements - Over a certain amount transacting in one period they have to verify the account by law.

A normal business really wouldn't be wanting to take money out of Paypal everyday. It just looks shady. I do one regular withdrawal each week and it's always for roughly the same amount. This type of consistency is much better. Withdrawing money as soon a you earn it though just looks dodgy.

To me it looks reasonable and wise. Even if we pretend PayPal does not have a reputation of freezing accounts for 180 days, why keep money on an account where there is no interest at all? Money earning no interest is being eaten by inflation on a daily basis. I either spend the money, or put it on a savings account where it earns interest.

Don't accept assumptions and opinions as fact. The person holding the account should call Paypal and discuss how to handle the funds in a way that is not going to cause a problem.

I would try withdrawing $500 at a time.

If that does not work too well, then I would call them up and ask them why they are not able to withdraw big amounts.

Sometimes it is a matter of just calling them up and asking this question. They are not going to eat you. Tell them not to be shy to call them up.

Here is their phone number for customer support.

1-402-935-2050 (if calling from outside Canada)

4:00 AM to 10:00 PM PST Monday through Friday
6:00 AM to 8:00 PM PST Saturday and Sunday
