Getting ready for 2013?

Hello all,

It's coming to the time of the year when I start my planning for the year to come. Last year I didn't really do this as thouroughly as I should have and I ended up wasting plenty of time.

For me it's crucial that I outline my projects and goals for the year...

It keeps me focused...

What about you? Do you create yearly plans? Do they help you In your business?

Really trying the same, last years plan give or take 75% successful and 25% ... so, coming year for new WSO and others will get it ready for 2013 lunch but before that need to do some pre-test to see how well I am performing.

Lets see others, it will surely interesting to how others are getting on.

    Best regards,
    Swrajit

The year isn't even close to being over! Well, at least for me. Black Friday and Cyber Monday make up half my yearly revenue on my eCommerce shops.

Funnily enough one of my aims for 2013 is to get back into the ecommerce game...

Hope this year proves profitable for you

Get right back in! eCommerce is really profitable if you do it right. Many people quick because of the low commissions on physical products but the truth is that's it's not really hard to make a killing off it. I used to sell bowflex's and just gave every customer that purchases a free sample DVD of a workout system inside their order. If they were happy with it, then they would purchase the full version for $497 and I got 100% commissions on that. Enough about my secrets...everyone who enters anything in business just needs to be creative!

                Hi Steve,

Sorry I can't share those secrets...

I have no real objections but people have copied my work and it's been far from 'nice'.

All it really is, is a sales page with a video, a bunch of testimonials and a detailed case study. I also have a special customer discount which discounts it from $1,997 to only $497 which acts as more value to the customer (they receive a card with a coupon code).

Sorry Steve, not looking to do much more in that niche. I have offline projects that are currently in progress. It's a busy time.

                Ben

P.S. People would pay $10,000 to get fit...you never know a person's life until you're in their shoes. Even if the information provided isn't worth that much to YOU, it can be worth a whole lot more to your customers

        Myob,

I am certain that on the 22nd some fool will come out saying how we worked it out all wrong and set a new date giving your niche a new lease of life...

        Alternatively...

All you've got to do is market global warming and climate change stuff to them after the 21st with a spin on the world ending...

Just watch what happens, when the world does not end in DECEMBER 2012.... do you think people just give up and stop buying or not interested. ha ha. NO! There is always something out there for people to do doom and gloom about. Its actually a good profitable niche. I have a good sized list in this 2012 niche, and I have lots of plans on what to do. Your ideas, just gave me YET another one.

My plan is to create 20 pages that eventually make 1 sale a day each of affiliate and CB products. I also have a store which I need to drive ppc traffic to and generate some sales on it. Its in electronics but very niche and good demand so I have some hope of doing well if I can get traffic there at a reasonable cost.

Shouldn't your business plan be a dynamic/fluid process that is constantly being improved upon? I can understand doing a yearly evaluation/annual report, but one should never wait for an arbitrary date to change things up or improve upon.

Yes indeed it should! However I plan out my year to have overall goals whilst my business plan for each individual project is fluid.

For example one of my annual targets is to get my offline business online, whilst another is to get at least one ecommerce business up and running.

For me the plan has to be getting more customers from new and developing online countries like Brazil, the Middle East and the former Soviet Union. I've found competition much lower and buyers more eager to spend, simply because they have a lot less choice than the English speaking community.

Mobile, of course, will continue to be the platform to focus on, along with the boom in tablets etc etc. Truth is nowadays a huge amount of traffic comes from people who have never seen a desktop computer...

We ignore these new opportunities at our peril.

I can honestly say that I used to do that sort of just in time planning and only plan for a short while ahead...

With apologies, (like quite a few other affiliate marketers here) I don't say, Michael. I spend a lot of time researching my niches, partly on the basis of their lack of affiliate competition, and having done all that, it would be potentially counter-productive for me to publicize them.

I'm in 8 entirely different and unrelated niches, for each of which I have a main site, a "free report", subscription lists, a pen-name, an article syndication set-up and so on. (And two other, multi-product Amazon affiliate sites without opt-in lists.)

We keep doing in 2013 what we did in 2012:

When you have any newer and/or high-in-demand product/item/service, please, let us know. We work closely with several German programmers that have tremendous success introducing and selling new products/items/services worldwide innovative email marketing (huge opted-in quantities). And they only ask for a low initial fee, then you pay them on a percentage-of- item/product-sold commission.

They do affiliate links BUT prefer product/items/services you own! Shoot us a message or response on here when interested!

Yes, yes, I create plans. I even draw schemes, write on paper, make calculations...

But with online marketing I think it's not good to create long term plans. Things change very often and you need to know exactly what you do day-by-day, week-by-week, maximum per month... otherwise you lose focus (my experience).

Always follow the trends and keep account of anything new popping up every month. IM has gotten so much more dynamical... the last two years have brought tremendous changes.

I am just now getting into IM and drifting somewhat from copywriting and ghostwriting. So we'll see what happens! It's a little late for me to focus on the holidays this year so most of my focus is on 2013. I'm hoping it will be a successful one.

And of course at least a thousand "I told you so's" on December 22nd.

This coming year we're working to take our Australian business, and expand around the world...

From a personal note though, the last couple of years i've been a big fan of Frank Kern's Perfect Average Day concept, and it's helped me enormously.

But it's due for an update, and this thread has just given me the vibe to get in there and do it now!

So, I'll start with blogging, I want to do it daily 365 times a year.

I don't create yearly plans (that's way too long for me, lol). But, I do try to set new goals for the long run.

I also shuffle my daily schedule up. Its a good time to change your routin if you can make it more efficient and better.
