Hello all,

It's coming to the time of the year when I start my planning for the year to come. Last year I didn't really do this as thouroughly as I should have and I ended up wasting plenty of time.

For me it's crucial that I outline my projects and goals for the year...

It keeps me focused...

What about you? Do you create yearly plans? Do they help you In your business?

  • Really trying the same, last years plan give or take 75% successful and 25% ... so, coming year for new WSO and others will get it ready for 2013 lunch but before that need to do some pre-test to see how well I am performing.

Lets see others, it will surely interesting to how others are getting on.

    Best regards,

  • The year isn't even close to being over! Well, at least for me. Black Friday and Cyber Monday make up half my yearly revenue on my eCommerce shops.

    • Funnily enough one of my aims for 2013 is to get back into the ecommerce game...

Hope this year proves profitable for you

  • Not so fast my friend, according to conspiracy theorists, the Mayan calender ends December 21st, and so does the world...

    • Over the last 12 years, I've been dreading the time when I would have to stop marketing in that niche.

    • Thanks for reminding us about it. May be the hurricane "Sandy" was a sign of it.
  • My plan for 2013 is to have my business be significantly financially profitable.
  • My plan is to create 20 pages that eventually make 1 sale a day each of affiliate and CB products. I also have a store which I need to drive ppc traffic to and generate some sales on it. Its in electronics but very niche and good demand so I have some hope of doing well if I can get traffic there at a reasonable cost.
  • Actually, since the world is ending in a month, I'm not going to worry about 2013.

Shouldn't your business plan be a dynamic/fluid process that is constantly being improved upon? I can understand doing a yearly evaluation/annual report, but one should never wait for an arbitrary date to change things up or improve upon.
    • [1] reply
    • Yes indeed it should! However I plan out my year to have overall goals whilst my business plan for each individual project is fluid.

For example one of my annual targets is to get my offline business online, whilst another is to get at least one ecommerce business up and running.
  • Yeah , Thanksgiving , Black Friday , Christmas and Year End Sales just take up my time to plan for 2013. I love end of the year cause those amazing occasion, holiday and event is time to earn big bulk of it .
  • My plan is to take massive action. Have spent too much time planning. as they say "imperfect action is better than no action at all"
  • Business as usual. Same things i'm doing now to make money, will be the same things i'll do in the new year.
  • Gearing up to net $50K per month in 2013. Will be a combo of Offline Consulting to Business Owners/Start Up companies, setting some Top Tier Info Products and my own Coaching Mentoring Course. Must will reply of a Paid Marketing Campaign with Google Adwords and Facebook PPC. Very excited and motivated.

P.S. Don't worry, not that big of a reach, been having $15K to $20K months most of 2012.

    • Some poor Mayan was hoping his ancestors were still running the local calendar shop so they could make a killing on the day when ppl realised they would need a whole new calendar after the 21st....
  • 2013 - shifting gear and moving in a good pace... ... planning already for my wedding...
  • If the world ends, than I guess it does, but if not, I will continue doing what I doing now as my business progresses really nicely.
  • well since we are NOT going to be here after DECEMBER 2012 We all do not have to worry.

But hey...Just incase we are here, I will have a massive list of people in my 2012 niche, that I can sell lots of "you are here, deal with it" and "self help" books. FUN FUN FUN!
  • I plan to produce many useful softwares for Internet Marketers
  • It's going to be a very exciting year for me.

I expect enormous growth in some of my businesses.

Launching new Offline Company as well, I expect that to go very well.
  • For me, it is going to be the same thing all year round.

Keep building my list, advertise, and succeed.

Business as usual for me too.

    • I just highlighted this and ADDED a key ingredient for you and others.

your posts is short, sharp and so true. And reading it, seems like you are gunna have a very GOOD 2013.
  • For me the plan has to be getting more customers from new and developing online countries like Brazil, the Middle East and the former Soviet Union. I've found competition much lower and buyers more eager to spend, simply because they have a lot less choice than the English speaking community.

Mobile, of course, will continue to be the platform to focus on, along with the boom in tablets etc etc. Truth is nowadays a huge amount of traffic comes from people who have never seen a desktop computer...

We ignore these new opportunities at our peril.
  • For me its marketing and making sure as soon as January hits im ready to go and start advertising myself like crazy!
  • Yes, I have a 1 year, 3 year, and 5 year plan. Though they aren't set in stone, but it gives me a good barometer on where I'm at and when I need to be flexible and make changes.

Next year is going to be awesome. Maybe it's my optimistic, glass half-full outlook but I see even more opportunities in 2013 than this year.

I'm embarrassed to admit, in this company, that I never plan any part of my business more than 3 months ahead, and 3 weeks ahead is more common, to be honest.

I've been planning to start off an additional new niche for a year, now, but "things keep happening".
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • Just starting out here in WF and will definitely work to implement all the new stuff I've learned and speedily grow my business.
    • I can honestly say that I used to do that sort of just in time planning and only plan for a short while ahead...

Planning an outline for the year gives me more focus...

Get those niches down on paper and set a deadline...and go go go!
      • [ 1 ] Thanks

what niche are you in at the mo?

  • I want to invest in 2 shops in 2013
  • For 2013, get better and stronger. I have a plan to open first physical shop. I combine online shop and the physical shop into a system for my city. And still run affiliate business for global.
  • I really should get myself to work harder for 2013. Enough horsing around in 2012.
  • Yes, yes, I create plans. I even draw schemes, write on paper, make calculations...

But with online marketing I think it's not good to create long term plans. Things change very often and you need to know exactly what you do day-by-day, week-by-week, maximum per month... otherwise you lose focus (my experience).

Always follow the trends and keep account of anything new popping up every month. IM has gotten so much more dynamical... the last two years have brought tremendous changes.
  • *First Post!*

I am just now getting into IM and drifting somewhat from copywriting and ghostwriting. So we'll see what happens! It's a little late for me to focus on the holidays this year so most of my focus is on 2013. I'm hoping it will be a successful one.

And of course at least a thousand "I told you so's" on December 22nd.

    • Hi, Jenn! I'm new here, too, and have been peering into the nooks and crannies here while making an occasional comment that are relevant or of some value. There is so much to read and think about here.
  • This coming year we're working to take our Australian business, and expand around the world...

From a personal note though, the last couple of years i've been a big fan of Frank Kern's Perfect Average Day concept, and it's helped me enormously.

But it's due for an update, and this thread has just given me the vibe to get in there and do it now!

  • The bad thing about New Year's resolution is that they remain a resolution and they are not often realized. But, the good thing about it is that new year is a new slate to get started and create a new beginning.

So, I'll start with blogging, I want to do it daily 365 times a year.
    • [1] reply
    • That a hell of a target! Blogging everyday is certainly a challenge, but if you can achieve it I am sure it will be profitable.
  • Next year I am going to build more sites to generate more income and also increase the spending of advertising budget to get more traffic to my sites.
  • My calendar is also clear after Dec 21st . I don't see any point for setting goals after that date.

    • We all might have time for another decade or two......Enjoy every single day between 11/22 and 12/21 anyways!
  • I don't create yearly plans (that's way too long for me, lol). But, I do try to set new goals for the long run.

I also shuffle my daily schedule up. Its a good time to change your routin if you can make it more efficient and better.
