Hey guys good day,

I'm signing up for bluehost right , it says $4.95 a month but when I go to the paypal checkout screen it shows $232.04. I was wondering am I going to be charged all this at once? Or is it just showing me the total amount I would be paying if I continue paying for the time period?

If that is what's on the bill they are more than likely charging you for it all at once.

You should read their terms and conditions. And also i think their domain is not free either.

Actually most hosting companies have monthly option but then you'd pay more than the $4.95/month. It's just like buying an iphone and having the carrier contract tactic.

It is usually specified on the hosting plan. Just like Hostgator, Bluehost also has a monthly subscription option.

If that's the case, you'd never know it by reading the home page. The pricing structure is unclear almost to the point of being misleading, IMO. You have to drill down via the help pages to get any idea of the package prices on offer and even then, the minimum length is stated as 12 months. Must be very confusing for inexperienced shoppers.

@the OP - If that's the price on your PayPal screen, that's what you're being charged. Be sure you know exactly what you're getting for that price before you pay.

to get the 4.95 a month you would have to pay upfront. it's most likely a 3 year deal

If you are having so much trouble signing up and paying what they advertise why are you wanting to continue to sign up with them, let alone promote them?

I'm sure there's such order details you can review your order.

They will charge you the full amount when you sign in annually and so on .

The reason they show you per month is because they would like to show you that you can actually get cheaper price by taking longer duration with their hosting .

Beside that do take note on all those add on feature which you can actually untick it if you do not need those feature and addon.

No it's not. It's the same theory as the "unlimited everything" marketing tactic. The pricing advertised confuses the potential customer so much by time they get to the checkout they just want to be done with it.

Did you check to see if you clicked on the wrong price option?

It's a charge for a package much larger than just a month. The only good host I know of that offers a cheap package on strictly a monthly fee basis is HostGator.
