Many opportunities...where to start??

Hey Warriors -

I've been fortunate to have a steady job, but at least once a year start looking around for new opportunities (new job or other ways to make money), and I inevitably end up here. I try something, burn out, and get frustrated.

There's so much info, I'm not sure where to start - ideally, I'd like to work on a small newbie-friendly opportunity that that I can learn from, even if I don't make any money for now.

Can you help?

I'm not looking for a mentor (although that would be nice), simply a gentle nudge to some resource that that can put me on the right track...get me going on something newbie-friendly. I'll come back to this community with questions as I come up with them.

Thank you for reading this far...!

About me
- Newbie
- I'm currently employed, not desperate, not unhappy, not happy with the job
- I value the idea of building a business that can make money, as opposed to working for someone else
- I have some time, mostly evenings for an hour or two, 2-5 evenings per week, to work on this
- I'm moderately tech-capable - I was a programmer in my distant past, can register a domain, set up a website, get a WP blog going, get some SEO going.

You're going to need to invest more than 1-2 hours per day, 2-5 evenings per week to really make your business take off... unless you have some heavy advertising funds.

But sounds like you have some skills. I would get the domain, do wordpress, do SEO... and do some other free marketing techniques or some advertising to get things rolling.

Make sure you pick the niche FIRST, then find or create a product to fill the void in the niche.

With your previous skillsets, I believe with what Randall had suggested, you should get a squeeze page setup, and start building your list.

In my opinion, your skillsets had already put you in front of many others. Just take action, on what Randall's tips, and start from there.

More more detailed marketing stuffs (such as traffic generation, or list building), you could check out my free course in my signature. There's a free website package too, but since you know how, you probably won't need it.

    I hope these tips helped.

      Hi,

I would suggest to quickly register a domain and setup a lead generation website or squeeze page. Giveaway a free product on your squeeze page in exchange for visitors email address.

Once you got your website running then concentrate on list building by driving traffic to your website. If you have the budget then drive traffic on demand with paid traffic methods like solo ads.

Do email marketing will all the subscribers that opt-in at your squeeze page. With email marketing, promote affiliate products from Clickbank, only promote products with high gravity.

The strategy outlined above is proven to work and have been used by 1000s of internet/affiliate marketers.

      To your success,

I would set up a squeeze page and drive traffic to that
page. Once the user opts-in, they are shown affiliate offers.
Give away a valueable product to get the persons email.

Then follow up with them via email.
Focus only on this, don't get distracted.

I have a similar set up you can check out in my signiture.
I think its the fastest way to get up and running, to make
        money.

    Thanks Randy, Ed, Drew, Cre8ifwealth!

I'll focus some time on finding a niche that needs help (I have one in mind), then work on setting up a squeeze page to then gather eyeballs!

Here are the steps you need to take if your are willing to spend 3-4 hours a day working online.
    - You need to be consistent and do not miss a day unless you are a church person
    - Sell a product or niche that fits your interest and a product that is reliable and will be around for a while. Don't give up on the product after a month, but stick to it and results will come.
    - Write at least 1-2 blogs a day towards your niche and keywords and submit each of those blogs on multiple search engines and submit the blog in the social network.
    - Participate in forums at least 1-2 hours a day gain a reputation and an education to market better on the internet.
    - If you are in the USA, than you should submit 3 craigslist ads a day and resubmit them every two days so you can have 90 active ads focused on your business.
I call this my 30 day marketing plan and it works pretty well and it gets my people great results just to work part time from home advertising for free.
Do this and you will see results.

Agree with all of the above.

    Though there is another solution.

You can create a niche site and get it to rank and get natural traffic.

Then you can monetize it with adsense, amazon, clickbank.

    Rinse and repeat...
