What's a great incentive for weight loss list?

Hi,

I'm just experimenting with getting a list built in the weight loss/diet market.

I'd really like to know what you have found to be a great incentive for people to join your list.

What did you give them to encourage them to sign up to your list?

I'd be very grateful to know what has worked well for you.

Kind regards,

John

Information that isn't BS. People are sick of reading the same stuff so if you can find a better way to do things, then you're onto a winner.

I have used a custom software that tells you how many calories you need to consume every day in order to lose weight.

      Thanks everyone.

I appreciate all of the comments and I agree with the ones about getting away from the same stuff as before. Not sure I'll be able to anything with software, I'm afraid.

Any further ideas about incentive would be most appreciated. I'd really like to try something a bit different with great user value.

And they should be like most WSOs here - you get just half of the job done (which of course you didn't know when you've signed up for it), and then they wake you up on the operation table and ask you if you want the other half done as well - for a hefty price, of course. (Sort of an upsell or back-end offer)

Just make sure you don´t bluff there. It has awful karma to play with people´s lives. Obesity is the external representation of underlying health issues, the most common are poisoning, insulin resistance and pica.

Same. I'm getting better results when I giveaway such software, or apps. Videos work great, too. And, polls and surveys also but that's another day's subject.

You should feed that list to make them stay with you. So, I always send something valuable to their way.

Maybe, a set of recipe books which can go hand in hand with highly popular diets (e.g. Dukan recipes), fitness videos (something like "10-min Slim Thighs Video of the Week"), training plans and cheatsheets, and discounts. You can use all these to both build your list and feed your audience.

There's tons of PLR out there with this niche but, I agree, offer something unique and of value. We own a few sites related to diet/health/fitness and being bold and candid about the industry seems to work well - whatever you do, try to make it different & disruptive. Best of luck!

    What do overweight people want?

They want to look better in the mirror.
They want to look better to the opposite sex (or to the same sex. Not that there's anything wrong with that, )
They want to be able to wear more stylish clothes
They want to have more energy
    They want better health, fitness
    They want respect

Create a giveaway around one or more of these themes touting the benefits of the particular item. Make it appealing. Make it irresistible. Create a great cover with a before and after pic (smiling women outpull men by a lot). Put a short resource section at the end with one or two links to your product. Watch what happens.

Actually, January is NOT the best time for weight loss sales.

          February is.

In January, everyone starts off with resolutions.

For the first two weeks, it's "do it yourself" and "I can do this.".

By February, they're looking for the new miracle cure.

To be honest for me its all about results.

I've been at the gym now for almost a year and my main goal is a mixed amount of goals.

I wanted to see weight loss and muscle gain and I know it's something you gotta be patient.

My main incentive is, if I don't run then my heart will just die. If I take steroids for muscle I'll likely lose it all once I stop taking it.

A great incentive would be your story about your journey and experience with weight loss.

Just write whatever you learned from that experience, give away as much value as you can and you're set.

After that, start working on the copy.

        Hey Higgey,

Make sure you write down those ideas and take action on them otherwise you may find that next week this time you are right where you started

Happens to all of us. You will especially act upon them if you manually write them down with pen and paper as opposed to just saving it on your pc.

        Good luck.

Research well and offer some genuinely useful information that has a great, punchy subject line! eg '7 secret food choices that will guarantee you lose weight!'

As a suggestion, google some of the best weight loss magazines and take note of their cover headlines. You want to capture that same attention grabbing, vibrant style of sales pitch! Even if you are offering some relatively simple weight loss advice or information, you would do well to present it in the most exciting and inspired form possible! Knock their socks off!

lol actually it is not such a bad idea. You just need some ingredient replacement. Use organic raw cacao instead of chocolate chips, use maca instead of flour, use rapadura instead of sugar. Get a good raw organic cream for the fat part, and use eggs from chickens not fed with GMOs... that is a nutritional power house. Add a bit of ginger and cinnamon... and... maybe some nuts?

mmmmm I think I´m going to try this one. The cream and the eggs are the hardest to find in my area.

      • John, check out current and back issues of best selling, wildly popular health and fitness magazines in your target areas (places where your target markets are based). Zone in on magazines with cover stories closely related to your niche.

Use those cover story titles to develop attention-grabbing headline ideas. When you already have a good set of headline ideas, choose one that'll be best for your main info material offer. Use the other headline ideas for onsite posts that'd build up your main info material offer.

Use the details in those magazines as research materials, and also do additional extensive research when necessary to improve the quality and overall presentation of your onsite posts and main info material offer.

Best selling, wildly popular magazines at present are most likely doing something right, especially because the viability of the print industry has been significantly reduced due to the Internet, which also means cutthroat competitiveness for the still active players in the print magazine industry.

These best selling, wildly popular magazines have professional teams of researchers, journalists, consultants and copywriters. These teams work together to develop enticing topic ideas and valuable information presented in the form of compelling cover stories with attention-grabbing headlines.

With all the weight loss blogs out there all trying to grab attention - try and go for something really unique.

The standard '10 foods that make you skinny' I personally think will turn users off as they have seen it time and time again - and it may not have worked for them in the past...

Show the user your different - you're information will actually help them and is not some rehashed PLR that they will find on most of the other blogs out there.

This is Tim Ferriss approach to the health niche. He does his own experiments, documents it all and sells tons of books. Why not do your own experiment, succeed and put together a little report?
