Hello
I am trying to find additional sales channels for my ebooks, and I am wondering if I could get more sales from lulu or createspace? I am selling a book on aspergers. Any experience or thoughts on these two sevices? Btw I have already tried kindle with pretty good results.

Hi Vivo, if you have a look around all the professional writing forums, I think you'll quite quickly form the impression (as I have) that Creatspace is widely liked and recommended by authors at the moment, whereas Lulu is quite widely criticised, complained about and condemned. In terms of authors' general/recent opinions, it seems there's no comparison at all between the two.

    • The only reason I am considering lulu is their reach with itune, barnes and noble, and such. I have noticed this quite a bit. Thanks for the reply.

  • i would recommend createspace, a friend of mine is using with great success.
  • I'd go with Smashwords........who distribute it to 7 other channels including iTunes etc
  • I use both.

Createspace is far better if you are based in the US. If you aren't then you are going to lose an extra 30% to the US government, unless you fill out a huge pile of forms that will drive you insane, and require many things you won't find easy to locate.

Lulu is better if you are in Europe as you aren't losing 30% right from the start, on top of their commission.

As I said I use both. I prefer Createspace for its ease of use, and if you are in the US it wins hands down. If you are in Europe, Lulu has to be given some serious consideration.
  • Createspace get the nod from me.

I've used it for one of my offline clients and it worked a treat. We opted for the extended promotion channels and the book is now available in a number of different locations.

The fact that amazon are behind it really did help sway my decision.
  • Can you sell ebooks on Createspace? Or are they just physical books? I am mostly thinking about selling ebooks.
