What's the expected increase in Amazon commission during Black Friday

I had just checked my own stats for this same information - good timing.

Last November, my commissions earned from Cyber Monday to the end of November (which was just 3 days last year based on the day on which Cyber Monday fell) was 40% of the commissions I made from November 1st through the 27th (the day before Cyber Monday).

December's commissions were then 54% higher than November's commissions.

Combined, November and December commissions made up 39% of my total 2011 Amazon commissions. Put another way, in November and December combined, I made 63% of what I'd made the other 10 months of the year. (I do LOVE these two months!)

Some of that difference in Amazon commissions for November/December would probably be the result of hitting higher commission rates for the month due to the overall volume sold but that's a small fraction - the trend is directionally correct.

There would also be some impact based on the amount of content I had online the beginning of the year as compared to the end of the year. If I look at just the trend from October to November and November to December (where the likelihood that my total Amazon content was more similar each month), then November commissions were 73% higher than October and December's commissions were 54% higher than November's.

For November 2012 to date (through the 22nd), I'm currently sitting at almost the exact commissions I had for the full month of October 2012 and we still have 8 days to go including Cyber Monday.
