Okay guys I been online for about 2 years and I haven't made a single penny. Everyone says don't quit, but its hard when nothing is motivating you. I went in to cpa and wanted to do some blackhat till I made some money and then start doing honest cpa. I read a ton of ebooks and they haven't really helped much. People where telling me to get a site so I went and got hosting and a domain name and set up a site. Then I got scammed by the guy who was suppose to edit my site and add content and everything. So know am stuck with a domain name hosting and $2 in my paypal account. What do I do?

You need to make use of that domain name and hosting and you need to learn to do it yourself instead of relying on someone else 2 years and no site is one of the reasons you haven't made anything.

After two years and all that studying, you should know exactly what to do. Here it is again:

        - Find an offer that matches the interest of your visitors. Plug it in to the content of your site.

        - Research some underserved keywords in your niche.

        - Write some articles focusing on those keywords.

        - Submit the articles to places like EzineArticles and so forth.

        - Post the articles on your own blog.

        - Make some Squidoo and Hubpages about your keywords. Point them to your blog.

        - When you make some money, don't waste it on beer, re-invest it in targeted advertising.

        - Work on your BUSINESS every single day with focus. Don't chase the next "shiny" thing that comes along.

        - Stop whining and get to work.

There. You've been spoon-fed your solution. Two years. Jeez.

Sorry but I didn't have this forum for 2 years. Mostly those 2 years where spent mostly on that online BS. You make it sound alot easier than it is

That list is not as easy as it looks - it is time consuming, but definitely a step in the right direction.

Take a day to regroup, and some time to read this forum because there is a LOT here. Use the search function.

Decide on a plan of action, be it the one just mentioned, or even dozens of others that can be found on this forum.

Then, stick to it and dig in and get er' done.

You may not realize, but you are already starting with a lot more than most people on this forum started with. And many of them have found ways to go from less than $2 in a paypal account to a hundred a day or so.

If you have your own domain and hosting, then you should use the domain you have. Start thinking of the right questions to ask.

Not sure what you should sell on your domain? That may be the first thing to ask.

Yea but alot of people that did that are really good with all that software and scripts and stuff where me am not that good at all. I was thinking if I like right articles and in some articles I just add a product that I recommend but idk that might be stupid.

You will not get anywhere like this. You need to start pumping out content, start writing articles, making free products to give away, generating traffic to your website, etc.

I suck at software. I suck at scripts. End of story. And there was a time I had no money, and needed to figure it out.

I still suck at software and scripts. So you search and find what will get done what ever you need to get done. Look for alternatives to what you want to do. For instance, you can install a blog the hard way, or you can use fantastico or simplescripts for a one click install if you have the right server.

No one knows how to do it all, but you look for answers and keep digging until you figure it out or find someone to help you.

Someone here mentioned "what's your marketing plan look like" and that is a very powerful question.

If you are baking a cake, and you want to have a chocolate cake when you are finished, do you just grab any old ingredients out of the kitchen and keep throwing them in until you hopefully have something that looks like chocolate cake when you are done? Did you put tabasco in it? Some bacon? did you get your chocolate cake?

For everything you want to do, there is a recipe and a formula that works.

                What are you good at?

Well, right now it sounds like you are good at finding articles to post on your blog/site. So find a plan that incorporates that tactic and build on it.

Do you know how to get into your cpanel? Does your host offer easy install scripts?
                CALL THEM.

That space does nothing just sitting there. Make them earn what you have already paid for.

You don't know how many options you have. You need to know.

ouch.. I don't come anywhere close to putting in those sorts of hours. Maybe for 1 niche - over the course of a year. But I am not an article marketer.

                    Here's an example:

I decided to do a product review. I built the review page in an evening. I did some ppc for a few days to test conversions, keywords, etc. Then I killed the ppc, and spent part of my weekend building some back links.

That was 2 weeks ago I think. I haven't touched it since then.

My site just hit the top 5 on page 1 for most of my keywords within the past 2 days, and I've made a sale each of those days (for a profit of over $80). I'm now spending a bit more time on links this weekend, trying to push my site up a bit higher (I am still on page 2 for the best KW phrase).

If you need to knwo what works, simply do a google search on your chosed KW. Take note of the ppc advertisers.

Come back a week later and do it again. Try to find what ads are still running. Those are nearly always going to be profitable affiliates with sites that can covert (not very many people will continue to pay for ppc if they aren't making sales). Study their landing pages closely for an immediate education in what works.

If you have survived 2 years, why not another 2 years? I would start again, and tried to build Lists. In order to build lists, you need monthly outlay of about $40 monthly - Aweber about $20, Hosting about $10, and a domain name now and then. Join some of the Giveaway events and download a few free products. If you can re-write them, and give that away for you own lists.

You don't sound like someone who has what it takes to build any kind of business, much less one online.

Nothing in this thread will change your way of thinking, give you motivation, or teach your discipline.

Sorry to sound harsh, but someone needs to open your eyes to the reality.

Some people are just not cut out for it, and you are probably one of them.

First be honest with yourself about your abilities, most people do just fine working for someone else.

        Good luck!

Hm. A lot of assumptions, Eric.

While it's sometimes necessary to tell it like it is, and people need to hear that, there is also the very good possibility that the person just needs some better mentoring than what he has already received from how-to books.

As you and I know, there is a lot of junk out there that provide
          a) information that doesn't work,
          b) information that is outdated,
          b) partial information that leaves out important details
          c) authors who are just not good at giving people instructions they can use.
          d) information that is just plain wrong, written by someone who doesn't know what they're doing or have any evidence to show those methods work.

We all learn differently. An instruction that works for you, might not for someone else. Perhaps you don't need a step-by-step set of instructions whereas others do.

I could be wrong, but I'm getting from the OP that he is still relatively young. This is a good thing, because he could be a good student who has not yet made too many assumptions or gotten set in his ways based on inaccurate information.

By starting his own online business shows initiative. By asking for help shows he's serious. Those are 2 major elements to success.

I'm all for providing him all the help he needs. He deserves that much.

Quitting should be the last resort. Ask yourself what have you been doing and why is it not working? I have been online since 1997 and never look back since.

What is your strong point? You may be good at something so you can use it online. If you are good at computer then you can offer services online. You can create ebook that comes with your knowledge of helping people to resolve issues. Now is the time that you ask yourself, what am I good at? Using your skill to make money online. Since you are having a website and blog, you can try Google Adsense though it is not as good as in the past but at least you will be able to generate some income. First find yourself a good niche topic and focus on writing articles. You will be able to pick up some income with it.

Quitting? It doesn't sound like you've even started. I mean, you've just NOW gotten a site after 2 years online, as you put it? You do know that having an internet connection doesn't mean you've been in business for 2 years, don't you? You do know that just reading the ebooks won't make you any money, don't you? Here is a "secret tip" I could probably create an entire course about and make a batrillion dollars, but I'm too lazy.
Newspapers in the united states are going broke. You can pick up $20,000 to $30,000 worth of remit ads in a newspaper in a town of 50,000 to 250,000 for about $1000 or $2000 now and it's well worth the effort and will run for some time.

You've got a nice theme but your topics are scattered. Focus on a few categories. What is your niche? What are you trying to rank for? What does Designer handbags have to do with making life easier? Where are your ads? Do you have hundreds of pages of content?

It takes lots of work to build a site unless you're autoblogging. Expect to spend a minimum of 60 hours a week.

I'd suggest some exciting titles, rewrite the posts and give them some snap and personality. Buy some databases to get content. Comment in forums and on other blogs in your niche after you improve the site to the point that it's worth linking to.

Lack of focus in your blog and in your marketing plan will not reel in any significant cash.

You've probably read the posts here for noobs. Good stuff but it can be overwhelming but you've made the first step of getting the site up. Now you've got to make it a worthy contender.

Oh yeah, clean up the blogroll! You've still got some default links that have nothing to do with your blog and if your theme lets you change the title from blogroll to something more meaningful like "living better in hard times" or "earn extra cash" then get er done.

Thanks alot for the info. Yea its not too good of a site. I put automatic articles that are posted on my site. I think I gota gotta delete the ones that are not in my topics. Well basically my site is about helping people with those topics. I go to college so I can only spend about 20 hours sometimes more sometimes less. I aslo have a blog where people can go just to relax and watch videos. makinglifeeasierforu.com/blog
I gota get more articles on my site I know that for sure.

You learned the number lesson in online money making....there are a TON of scams. Please don't rely on anyone else to do something for you. Here is another lesson; you don't have to pay money to make money. Back in the day you did...but not any more........

Get you a free website using blogspot and blogger. Now, pick an offer that is hot on the market right now. What are picking interested in? YOu can get a good idea by looking in 'Google Trends'. Informational products such as ebooks are really hot on the market. Article writing is also another good way of making money because well written articles are very high in demand for webmaster looking for content for their site.

Now, once you choose your product, you will need to make a sales page on your blogspot page (blog) at blogger.com. Now, once you have done this, you need to market the hell out of that product. Many people say that it depends on what product you are advertising....I say it all depends on how well you market it.

Write at hubsites such as Hubpages and Squidoo. Write about ten articles relating to your product or website, and link those hubpages together. (See online for interlinking pages (blog post, etc). Then, take one of those hubpage articles, and bookmark them to the top social bookmarking sites at Socialmarker.com. IN one day, you should have at least 1-2 sales. THis has worked for me and I am now making at least $200 a day selling my articles. Good luck man.

After 2 years of reading up and studying and putting things into action you should have an idea or area of which you found to be on interest with you. What happens with most marketers is they try to do EVERYTHING and honestly you just cant. Find an area where you did have some success over the last 2 years and build on that single thing for a few weeks do not get side track. Make money from that first and then put it into some type of automation then move on to the next thing.

Ok my first question above all to you then would be. Do you have a Opt In list? A list of people you created If not I think you are already shooting yourself in the foot. Your opt in list is your blood line something you can always fall back on but yes there is an investment with starting one.

I suggest quitting. Obviously Internet marketing isn't your thing and surely you don't want to waist possibly another 2 years trying.

I personally find it hard to believe you haven't made a penny after 2 years of solid trying. CPA marketing is very lucrative but extremely hard to master.

But, before you do quit, read below.

Have you tried old fashioned keyword research> content (video/article)> offer?

I prefer to give a man a net rather than fish but off the top of my head....

    (a) pick a niche like ringtones etc. create 4+ YouTube videos all cliff-hangers (leave them hanging) with a strong call to action to get the rest free.

plaster your landing page with ringtone CPA offers and see what happens.

If this makes you $1 a day you now have 2 options:

    1) create 40 more videos.

    2) try a different niche and repeat (a).

I suggest trying 8 different niches to see what's better..

You're not looking to build an empire from these test vids, but instead you're building the foundation for the empire.

OK so now you have a few $ coming in with minimal effort....

    (b) convert those videos into sufficient articles and upload to article directories (maybe try a different title for a broader reach?). syndicate your current videos and upload them to even more video directories.

Repeat the whole process with a different niche each week.

    Good luck,

    Louis

I don't want to kick you whilst you are down, but it sounds like you think you are a victim.

To be blunt, you need to give yourself a kick up the backside and decide whether you are going to do this for real or pack it up.

If you have been at this for two years and still haven't made a penny, then either you have been messing around and effectively done nothing, or you are trying to make money in the most weird of ways.

There is NO reason why anyone can make at least a few hundred bucks after 30 days, never mind 2 years!

If you have "studied" things and still not done something that makes money, then you really need to take a long hard look at yourself and decide whether this is for you or not.

Even surfing this forum for half a dozen hours should give you enough information to make some money.

What the hell have you ACTUALLY DONE in the last two years to move yourself closer to giving a great service or useful product or supplying valuable information to people and thus making some money?

    Enough said.

Yep, 7 straight years, this is from one of his mass control mindset guides.

In that 7th year he made over $100,000 after he had stopped deviating from the plan he had been told and just doing it without any deviations.

He stuck at it, because I don't think he had a choice. He goes onto say how in his 7th year he followed the instructions of all the things he had bough by the letter.

I'm not too sure what sure situation is getinmoney, and you said for yourself that nothing is motivating you.

You really want to succeed? You're gonna have to WANT it. Terribly so.

I'd say, go over the probrable mass of ebooks that you've collected in those seven years, pick one strategy out and follow it to the bone. No slides, no slacking, nothing.

I could understand that he may not have gotten much success in 7 years perhaps, but I still can't believe he didn't make a single penny in 7 years.

Really good advice i'd say. This stuff does seem to work, you just have to do it. don't look for shortcuts, just give it 100%. I learned about IM a year ago, and didn't really give it 100% and failed. I started again just 3 weeks ago, and have managed to make a sale (to the suprise of some of the members i asked to critique: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-critique.html, but thats another story) but its my first real blog, so its all learning.

Stick with it. u have to want it. no matter what

    Hi getinmoney

I am sorry that you have been scammed, I have been there before and I think twice before I get my credit card out and pay for something that is probably too good to be true....

My best advice to you and everyone else in this forum is to have a product of your own, once you have something of your own, you are in total control of your business, you can take it in any direction you want to.

I always go by the saying "if you want something done properly, do it yourself"

I hope this helps you in deciding which way you want to go.

you have a website and domain name? do you have full control over it? If so then start learning about setting up website, pick a niche and then you have to start getting traffic to that site.

If you need help or tips then by all means don't hesitate to get in touch with me, PM me your details and we can work together to get you better results.

The end of the day you gotta keep going and never say QUIT, don't even think about quitting, the word "QUIT" does not exist in our world.

    Regards

    Kishor

    gettinginmoney,

I have to agree that your mindset appears to be that of a "victim". I'm not going to berate you but if your mindset doesn't change you will never make any money. Here's something that can really help you get in the right mindset about running your business.

It's not going to cost you a dime. It's Paul Meyers report on "Need To Know" you can go here, sign up and download TalkBiz News: What you really need to know to succeed online - Online business building newsletter. However it won't mean a thing unless you are willing to study it and then apply it.

Be sure and pay special attention to the first chapter "Chapter Zero". (seriously that is the first chapter) that alone should help you right off the bat. Read the whole thing though then apply it.

Also you can reevaluate your technique, learn to write better, and how to seo each thing you write, learn how you can do more with what you have already done. Find another niche, your niche may not be a place where people will spend money. Learn how to design your sites better. Ect.

Lots of good motivation and advice above, but I'll add my paltry two cents:

First, don't be afraid to outsource. Doing everything yourself from now on will only slow you down, frustrate you and take your eye off the ball. As has been stated a couple of times, you need to "focus, focus, focus"... at least initially until you get some dough rolling in. There are plenty of great inexpensive people and firms out there to help you... try places like getafreelancer and guru.com or even here and look for the high-rated people. Use escrow if you are worried about getting scammed again.

Second, decide what you want to focus on. Ok, you have a domain and hosting. That doesn't mean you have to blog or sell stuff. There are a million ways to go. I'm a big fan of building content sites and flipping then (I've done that a few times with great results). My bottom-line advice would be to find a single WSO that has great reviews, great support and that interests you and stick to it for a minimum of 6 months. And I mean stick to it!

      Ok,

I have had some pm's going back and forth, and I think this may help our friend, and may help some others so I'm adding it to this thread.

I did some research on the site and noticed some simple things. No backlinks, a million out bound links, looks like the links to WP are still on there, there is no money plan. It is just a bunch of articles.

No means to drive traffic - and missing some information.

So, I don't know that getinmoney is even ready for a mentor. getinmoney needs to get some answers to some basic things first, and I have recommended to getinmoney to use the search feature on this forum, or to google.

I think everyone would agree Google is our friend?

So, here are the first questions that need to be answered, and are things I think are extremely important for getinmoney to know before even going further.

No, this is not a complete list, but a starter.

      What is a backlink?

      What does a backlink do?

      Why do I need backlinks?

      What is anchor text?

How do I make anchor text?

      What is an inbound link?

      What is an outbound link?

      What is a cpanel?

How do I find my cpanel? (you may need to contact your host to answer this)

How do I upload a file in my cpanel?

Where do I upload wordpress themes in my cpanel?

How do I extract the theme?

How do I activate the new theme on my blog?

I have news here. This is not scripts and programming folks. These are basic things that someone who is running a blog needs to know.

And, I don't think anyone should just give these answers here. That will NOT help.

BTW, getinmoney may already know some of these answers. My post is not here to make anyone feel like they don't know anything. It is a list of questions. Think of it more of a challenge to know all the answers here.

And one more for getinmoney to look up - the answer is on this forum and on the internet. Go look up how to make the link in your signature here clickable. Hint: forums have a different code to make things clickable.

It sounds like you jumped in with both feet without really knowing what you were doing. Kind of like starting school in Grade 5 without knowing any of the basics from Grade 0-4.

There are certain steps to take in order to get started correctly.

    1) Decide what interests you... whatever you'll be doing in your business must please you or you won't stick with it. Knowing about your niche will help you in many ways, such as how to market it.

For instance, I have a lot of inside knowledge about anxiety and other mental illnesses. This gives me automatic knowledge about the subject itself, but also in who is my target audience. I know what they're looking for and how to deliver it to them. I know where to find good resources to help me fill my site and articles with valuable information.

If you're intested in Yoga, then take that as your main niche - and all that goes with it. You can build that niche quite well because it relates to relaxation, stress relief, conditioning - and you can offer related products like special attire, yoga mats, yoga instructions, etc.

    2) Develop a plan... Once you have your niche chosen, decide what you need to build your business. What knowledge do you need to market it? You'll need resources where you can get content for your site and information about your niche (educate yourself). You will need a well-designed site focusing on your ONE NICHE. This makes marketing much easier and more targeted, rather than trying to market unrelated products.

    3) Decide your audience... Who are you reaching out to? People looking for alternative ways to improve their lives? Stressed out housewives/mothers/child-care workers? Seniors who will benefit from the stretching and toning aspects of Yoga?

    4) Develop your marketing plan... How will you reach those people? Alternative health sites? Mothers' chat rooms? Newletters that cater to those markets? Blogs, forums, social network sites? Article marketing to article directories, offer to related sites as content, solo ads to newsletter and other list owners?

    5) Develop marketing products... What will you use to get the word out and drive traffic to your offer? Free reports, articles, videos?

    6) Decide on your products... Will you sell your own ebooks? Sell as an affiliate of someone else's products? Video training? Yoga courses?

    7) What skills do you have/lack... Note all your skills that you will need to do #1-6. Decide what you can learn, how you can fill the gaps by using other people's products, and who you need to hire to help you. This can be someone to write your sales letter or other site content, help in doing SEO with your site, etc.

    8) Decide what you can offer in exchange for services... If you can't afford to pay someone, see what you can offer instead. What are you good at that you can do for them in exchange for getting a sales page written, for example.

    9) Locate product suppliers to expand your offer... If you're selling ebooks on Yoga, decide which related products you will offer and who you will be that supplier. You'll want to look for suppliers (affiliate programs) that offer quality products, ie: Yoga mats.

    10) Expand your business... Once you become successful at marketing your first product, duplicate that success with more products. But it's important to start small until you get your feet good and wet.

Remember that everyone started where you are now. Some people were fortunate enough to have some great mentors and partners to help them. Others had to learn on their own from scratch. They made their mistakes. They bought marketing products - some good, some bad, and some downright deceptive (offered information that just didn't work).

Some people just have a natural instinct about business, while others have to learn it as they go. Those with instinct get into the money much quicker, while the rest struggle along until something clicks.

The final instruction to this list is:

    11) Stay focused and persistent... Put all your energy into promoting your one niche. Don't get distracted by other ideas or offers. There are tons of money-making offers out there, each promising the moon. What they don't tell you is that even if their system worked, you still have to work very hard and stay focused. Once you lose that focus, things begin to fall apart. You will drift from your original ideas, possibly start new ones... never completing any.

It takes time to learn the ropes, put that knowlege into action, and begin to see positive results. That's why it's so important to stay focused on your "dream". Unfortunately, staying focus is the downfall of many internet marketers.

So go through each of these 11 steps... and don't give up. You can easily tell if your chosen niche is a winner by the level of competition. If Yoga is your choice, you can be sure it has lots of potential.

Persistence will pay in the end.

    Best of success...

    Sylvia

I have checked your website and seriously I don't know what you are trying to sell. There's no headline, nothing that can interest a person, no call to action.

Seems that you are trying to promote Dating, Finances, Self Help & Wellness, Fitness and Diet all at the same time. You may have found that these are some of the hottest niche and decide to simply list them on your website.

You are not going to make a single cent if you don't change your entire website.

If you follow the steps below, you are going to make your 1st $1 online very soon.

    1. Find a hungry crowd
You can take the dating niche and start researching. type "dating + forum" into google and go to the first forum you found. Once inside the forum, check out what topics are the folks there discussing.

    2. Find out what they really want
Find out what problems are bothering them and what answers they are looking for. Are they desperate to date a girl? Just break up with girlfriend and wants to get them back? Spend some days to really understand their fears, their problems etc....

    3. Give it to them
Once you found out their problems, go to other forums or websites to find the answers and you can tell them the answers by replying to their posts in the forums or write articles with the problem as the title e.g "How to date a girl in 3 simple steps" and link back to your website.

Your website should focus only on the dating niche and nothing else. You should have a headline that captures your visitor's attention and review 3 clickbank products that can help them to solve their problems.

Once you start to see sales coming in, you know you have hit a gold mine. Then you can build a list and even put your campaign on steroid by doing ppc.

Internet marketing is all about helping people to solve their problems. It's not easy but if you put some effort and follow the above steps, it's impossible not to make a single cent.

        - Research some underserved keywords in your niche.

That is the beset advice you could have got today. Here is a gameplan for you.

Go to Blogger. Create a free blogger account, and create a blog around "help with foreclosure"

Use the google keyword tool and find low comp keywords in that niche. Create 5 posts (300 words) then ping the blog unsing pingomatic.

Put adsense on the blog. Skyscrapers, text, eveything. It is easy in blogger.

        Bookmark the blog using socialmarker.

Take those same 5 posts, and submit them to Ezinearicles. Yes, I said the exact same posts. Dont worry about duplicate content right now.

Now create 2 articles for EZA a day for a week targeting low comp keywords.

        YOU WILL MAKE MONEY.

Now, I gave you the niche and the gameplan. One that will make you money. Your job is to take action, and identify other high paying adsense niches and create blogs around those niches and repeat the above process. With the right niches and SEO'd articles, you should be making money in no time.

        ...it's up to you!

        theimuniversity.com/30-Day-Challenge.com

This is not an affiliate link. IT is simply a free resource you can try, if you will.

But, Gina is a highly respected and sought after speaker, and I believe if you will get in here and apply yourself, in 30 days you will know whether to QUIT OR NOT! I am not sure if you can still get in, BUT TRY! Take action right now, and see.

Your site is all over the place. No wonder. You have posts on chiropratic stuff to yoga mats to kitchen decoration to Russian brides. That won't go anywhere. Pick a niche, one THEME and stick with that. 1 per site. Not a million different random things per site. 1 niche-1 site.

How can you make money when you, yourself is not helping encouraging yourself that you can do it? You need to believe in yourself that you can. And you need to be patient and have perseverance.

*Submit your sites to free web directories.
*Write an article about your site, make it as a reciprocal link to the directory site where you submitted your own website.
*Write an article about your site and monetize it with Google adsense.
*Post ads on websites like Craigslist.
*Make a video of your site and upload it to youtube.

You don't need to quit just because you're not getting what you want right away, I know its been 2 years. But try and try until you succeed. Just don't give up! Okay?!

I've been at it a few years aswell and have made little money. I've spent more than I've made with this domain and that domain for the next idea. Time to get serious, pick a niche and stick to it. Make a daily plan, and stick to it. It's all about systems. Look in the wso section, there are loads of money making solutions. I purchased one for $15 and its top notch. It's day 6 of my mission and I know I will get there. All it takes is time and effort. I've briefly read that your selling lots of stuff. IMO blogging to sell stuff is a load of crap. Wheres your traffic coming from? If you're relying on forum traffic then forget it. Start article writing.

What funny is on your blog, you have this video:

You need to get some inspiration, man. Sounds to me like you've got 'lack of support syndrome', which as any good internet marketer will tell you is one of the most common reasons why people fail in their attempt to start new part-time businesses.

Don't know if you're strapped for cash right now, but in all honesty, I would do the following:
    - get in touch with the person who got you involved in your program and ask for help

    - if that is not possible, hire a good mentor. Dan Kuschell is, in my opinion, the best
resource today for this kind of business. it's expensive, but his mentoring program
comes with a garantee of success. (no I have not used his services yet, nor
am I an affiliate or get any kind of kick-backs by referring you to him.) I will be
hiring a personal mentor once I reach a certain plateau and need to bring a new
    level of success.

    - if that option is not possible for you now or if you're strapped for cash,, and if you're really sick and tired of what you're doing now, start from scratch and get on board with another program which will keep you motivated and help you attain the results you're searching for. You may think this is corny, but Anthony Robbins' 'Get the Edge' audio program is a cheap alternative. Help you get motivated, anyway.

It is my honest belief that you can make it big online. If you've been at this for two years, you have certainly learned a few things. But sometimes having learned things in certain ways can be a dangerous thing. Your thinking is biased that certain techniques work and that others don't, when in reality you may need to be doing the opposite. Understand what I'm saying?

Make sure you believe in what you're promoting. And above all, you must have a website with an opt-in page to get your data base of prospects coming to your inbox.

But you can be sure of one thing: Quitting will definitely get you nowhere very quickly.

I honestly want to see getinmoney get this, and I think he can turn it all around in a couple of weeks if he keeps putting the time he's got.

I don't know if this is what he was thinking - but here is something I thought when I started. I thought I could just put a site up on the web and people would find it. Like a page. LOL

I also got one of those "free" websites as part of a package I got - you know the one page deals that incorporate your affiliate link in and thought WOW, I have this great looking website and it is just going to sell the product.

Meanwhile back at the ranch the same page was up EVERYWHERE like thousands of them, and I didn't realize people needed to run PPC to get the traffic to them - and even THAT was saturated.

I'm not that stupid all you have to do is hyperlink it
Ok, maybe you're not that stupid - but I was when I first came to this particular forum as the code was much different than another forum I was on in the past. And there are a lot of newbies on here who don't know how to do it.

Let me know later today if you got your plugins installed, or if you are having issues. My cpanel is VERY SIMILAR to yours, and I will make a video just for you showing how to add a plugin.

You started on the wrong foot.

First do some freelance work.. find something you are good at and offer your services for peanuts... don't care what they are asking you to do.. as long as its ethical. and then see how they earn from your services.

this way you will earn money and gain experience . You will be better equipped to run your own ventures.

I'd definately stop throwing cash away on 'how to eBooks' or paying others to turn your site around. You can keep a site going for about $40 a month like johnng said and you can get so much info that's in the ebooks by just reading forums/articles/free ebooks/how to vidoes.

You need to focus on a business plan, not get rich quick schemes. One in a hundred might work for a while but you need a sustainable long term business.

What does your site do? Is it a content site for adsense? Are you advertising affiliate products? Are you selling eBooks? Are they niche products or general IM ebooks? Can I see it?

Making money online become easy -- when you understand how it is done. No one became a success overnight. Stick to one skill, master it and take it to a freelance site and make a nice amount of cash. Or you can create your own product and make a nice living.

Don't be hard on yourself, some have spent way more than 2 years and are still having it bad.

I dont know that the OP has been banned before.

If you have been banned, there are other options. I have tried bidvertiser with some success as well as contextual ads. Those are ads from places like Kontera, where a word in your post will become an active link. If some one clicks on it, you get a little money.

There are options out there. They may not be as good as adsense, but there is no reason to give up if you have been banned.

    Getinmoney,

OK, I am going to tell you such a stupidly simple way of making money that you JUST CANNOT fail to make your first few dollars online. I really mean it - you just cannot fail.

    This is so easy:

    1) Sign up as an Amazon Affiliate
    2) Pick a product category in Amazon. Doesn't matter what it is - gardening, fishing, stereos, anything you like.
    3) Register a domain name and install Wordpress.
    4) Pick a theme and install it.
    5) Pick products from Amazon within your niche.
    6) Pick some long tail keywords for your product (there are always loads for just about any product). Traffic doesn't need to be astronomical - hundred or so searches a month is fine
    7) Create 1 post for each product, incorporate a photo from Amazon with your affiliate link, and write a 150 word review with another affiliate link at the end.
    8) Write 4 product reviews a day for the first couple of weeks (spend about 15 minutes on each) and then drop down to 1 a day or less
    9) Do some general back linking and deep linking
    10) Draw some direct traffic (e.g. ezinearticles or Stumple Upon)
    11) Add Adsense to your site

Rinse and repeat for other niches.

You won't be rich but you just can't fail to make sales. Learn the basics and then progress to more profitable affiliate offers.

Amazon's great because people trust it an buy. So many products to chose from. They even tell you what the best sellers are in each category! Only thing is that the Commissions aren't exactly astronomical.

Try it. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Nutritional Expert? DING, DING.... Do you realise how many people REQUIRE a service like that? Go and track down some of those... Personal Chefs... They are not Chefs, they are people WHO LOVE to cook...(Well, a few MIGHT be papered) The point is, you could soon come up with something.. Gee, Molly the Personal Chef Likes To Cook .... BUT she lacks the Nutritional training... Hmmm.. am I on to something?

    Hi Getinmoney,

You really need to start building a list...NOW. Over the last two years you could have built up a big subcriber base, so start on that now so you can start building a relationship with them and promoting quality products to them.
There are many good affiliate programs to join.
To start building your list, join giveaway events as a contributer, there are many of them around going on all the time. You will soon build yourself a subcriber base.
Don't give up...you can make money at this!
I think it is time for you to take drastic action though. Throw all of your old methods out the window (i think we can safely say they haven't worked!) and work out a new plan for yourself. Just concentrate on one thing at a time, don't get swamped in many different things. As soon as you see your first sale, it will fill you with confidence and motivation, i promise.
    Good luck mate

    Cheers,
    Paul

I also have the problem. my first site is not earn any sen hehe but my 2nd site makes me money

So I analyze whats the problem. the 1st site its not the things that I like. and the 2nd site is the products that I really-really like!

You better start what you like the most, so you will enjoy what you going to do with your site

    This is Just my opinion.

I have spend most of my money groping in the dark for a few clueless years. Because I was always working on a tight budget, I had to do a lot of work myself. Can't say I didn't learn anything from it. I was determind not to ever depend on dishonest and lazy webmasters. Once I understood the work involved, I was able to manage my time better, understand what online business concept worked for me, and fundamentally realising how cheap it was if I had found WF earlier (too late, the money's gone). But I had a renewed confidence that I am better prepared these days because I really learnt how to build and run a website from scratch. Quiting now, would REALLY be a waste of all that money I've spent on ebooks, courses and web builders.

Another way I realised I could start making income immediately was to buy a ready made money-making business site and start learning from there (If I only thought of it sooner. Hai-ya).

If you really have to quit, do it when your domain and hosting expires.

I don't know what kind of stuff you've been reading to learn how to do internet marketing, but it sounds to me like it's either been crap, or you just haven't done what you've paid someone to show you to do - or maybe you're in information overload and need to learn to focus. There are so many ways to make something happen and more opportunities than you will ever be able to go after in one lifetime. You need to pick one method, learn everything you can about it and do it all systematically. Before you quit, wipe the drawing board of all the info you've taken on board in the past, go the WSO forum and find something with good feedback and buy it, then do everything it says. Everything. If you still can't make it, it might not be right for you.

I see that you think this is an amazing thread. It really isn't. Especially when all you needed was motivation and focus that has to come from you. If you get things rolling with the advice given you should give WF a big thanks for saving another online marketing suicide.

    Good Luck,

This sure isn't for every one. Though it might not apply, as many have mentioned, the problem seems to be lack of action. It's not being called lazy, I think every one on this board would admit that they did not always take as much action as they could have, it's like second nature to slack off, some more than others. I'm still guilt of it from time to time, after 10 years.

Lazy and lack of action are not exactly the same to me. There are plenty of people that don't always take action, but they do take action enough to make money.

Could it also be your jumping from this to that? That happens to so many people, they jump on the latest fad, don't end up doing much, then find yet another "big thing".

Maybe you should just start from scratch. You've found a great board to learn. Seems every day there are many posts telling every one how to make money or get traffic, blogging, ect.

Make this the day you start anew and take massive action on something?

Anyone can do this... If you do 1 thing per day for 2 years, you'd have 800+ pieces of content. That should be enough to bank more than most people at a day-job and if you would have syndicated the content (spread it wider) you'd have 80,000+ pages online and make 100x more, but you have a "site and a blog", think it's enough... it's not.

I get pissed at myself for knowing what to do and not doing it... so should everyone else...

I tell people to punch me in the face if I'm not doing something on my business

Can't add to the nuggets here - most contain a decent technique for making a living online. I will add this however; thirtydaychallenge.com is a course you really should be taking. It's basic IM 101. It's the training wheels you need. Totally free and no pushing you into a bogus product goes on there, just straight dope from good people. The community is great as well.

You seem to be taking a broad view of IM and targetting far too broad a scope. It's like your spraying automatic weapon fire at a general area hoping to hit a bullseye. You have to learn how to snipe. (Sorry, just finished watching Black Hawk Down again lol!) Long tail keywords in a low competition niche is what you should be targeting. And since you've mentioned you can't write, one thing you will definitely need to spend money on is proper articles, written for your sites. You can't target keywords with no words. There are some excellent article and copywriters here that constantly offer slamming deals.

Also. There are mentors out there who will work with you based on a percentage of your online income. Check, ask, investigate. You may only get 50% of 2000.00 a month, but it's better than 100% of 0. Consider the education a 1 on 1 mentor can give you while you actually begin to see some income. Worth its weight in gold really. I mentored a friend once and he now rakes in almost as much as me. There's lots of us around here that know how to do this thing. Just have to find someone that's into helping and offer them a deal that won't cost you anything until you start making money.

One more thing; the most profound comment I've seen in this thread is paraphrased here "Whether you think you will win or believe you will lose, you are right."

Sounds not so optimistic, but 2 years are big period...If you see things dont go normal-it's OK to quit...Also 2 years are big period and should learn for yourself a lot of things and to rely on other people so much...
Don't know, but it's OK to quit if you feel this is not your job.

  • Phxbui had it right -- focus is REALLY important. It's easy to chase strategies and try the latest thing and join a program to sell something a lot of other people are selling or aim for a bit of untargeted traffic, but when it comes down to it, you've got to focus on making a plan that works for...

    a) The time you have to work on it
    b) YOUR interests and passions
    c) Your skill set and capabilities
    d) Your determination to succeed

And above all, if you want customers -- the kind that pay, and come back and want more from you -- you need to work on something that genuinely serves them and improves THEIR lives... not just making money. Running an online business isn't the same thing as learning strategies (blackhat or otherwise). It's about finding a market, developing an idea, developing a sales message and a marketing plan, and then implementing them all on a website that is easy to use and easy to understand.

All the strategy stuff comes second, once you actually have something of value to direct someone to, including a solid product or service, or solid content.

Start with the basics, and then use the stuff you've learned along the way as you go through a logical plan.

That's how to actually make it work.

My suggestion is get a mentor. Find someone who is successful and see if they will provide you with some metoring. I understand they might not do it for free but maybe they can give you solid advice and a clear direction on what you should do.

There are a lot of stuff on mind mapping too you can find or sign up for free. It will be benefical to you.

    Just my 2 cents

Not to be mean, but if you have to ask, it's probably time to give it a break. Let it go for now. One day you may be inspired to pick it up again. But, without a passion for it, it's not worth banging your head against a wall and being unhappy.

I haven't seen this suggested yet:

If you can't afford a personal mentor (which is understandable), try to find a mastermind group. You contribute knowledge that you have, but others don't; others contribute knowledge that they have, but you don't. It's free except for your time. The combined knowledge of 5 or 6 people is A LOT.

Do what you love. Find a way to make a living at it.

Good luck and keep us posted.

I think a lot of us have thoughts of quitting at one time or another. I've done it a few times lately. Usually a week or two of no Internet marketing and I'm starting to get really bored. Why not take a few days off and quit thinking about the million things you need to learn and do? Then come back to it and see if you feel more motivated.

I've made the mistake of learning, learning, and never thinking I knew enough. Tonight I was looking at some old notes I wrote for a course I created over a year ago. I was amazed at how much I already knew then, yet I still seem to think I need to keep learning instead of doing.

Figure out what you do best and what you enjoy doing most. Then figure out how you can barter with someone for the things you aren't so good at. Best of luck and hope to hear good things from you in the future.

If I were you, I'd learn a skill such as writing or web site development, which will help you gain the funds you need to continue your education and find your path online. Having a backup plan will ensure you're never in this situation again. Even something as simple as learning to set up blogs will give you a decent amount of income. I don't know how long it will take for you to develop a strong business.

Well, 2 years is a really long time... It took me a month to make my first sale online, and it took me about 5 months till I started making a living on the internet.

I read a lot of different methods but I didn't make a dime with them. I made money with my own methods so I suggest that you try your own methods! Think of something and try it, aim for $1, then rinse and repeat.

God bless you for persevering! But, ANYTHING that puts me in the hospital with stress and anxiety isn't worth the $100. Especially with four kids to look out for. There are other ways to make a living.

You need to ask yourself if IM is your cup of tea or not. Many people make a lot of money and they are not in IM. In fact these people make far more money than any IMer can ever hope to dream.

IM's still a lot cheaper than entering into an offline business. Make sure you know what you're doing before you chuck it! You've got a lot of skills and knowledge by now, so you may be able to think laterally and help someone else's business for a while. Write about you experiences, help someone not to make the same mistakes.

Don't Quit just yet!!!! Go back to the basics and set it up with a real foundation to build on. I know the make money part of all this IM thing is what you desire, however there are a few things you need to put into place first. Have you built a list of subscribers yet? If not, that's where you start. Take the next 2 months and do nothing but build your list.

I can recommend Chris Farrell - Create Your First Website By 3:45 This Afternoon for some excellent "how to" instruction. He specializes in working with newcomers or people who need to build a list and get all the foundational pieces in place in order to move forward. I think you'll find that you will get much more satisfaction from your business building efforts if you go back and start with what needs to come first.....a good foundation and a postitive mindset. It all reflects on your business and your subscribers.

Believe me, I understand your frustration....I've been there and was very grateful that I was able to find someone who would take the time to help me sort through all the "knowledge" I had acquired. Now it seems to be making much more sense and I am seeing my business grow in more ways than just the making money part. Don't get me wrong..the money part is good too but there is more to building this business than the money. That comes after you build a solid foundation and move forward from there.

Hope this gives you some direction and some inspiration to hang in there! If you do it right, it will pay off and you will see results. Check out Chris Farrell......it'll be worth your time.
