Silly Question, but I was Just Wondering..

I bought some PLR e-books...about 50 of them and was wondering if I could rewrite them all and incorporate new information into them if I could sell them on Amazon or anything?

I am trying to find a way to make money online and right now writing is nto working out too good for me. I cannot seem to find new work anywhere, and seen somewhere else about selling PLR e-books but rewriting them some.

I am on Fiverr, Elance, Guru, this forum, iWriter and Textbroker and just not making what I need to make each week.

I don't have any money to invest in anything, and I do have a health blog that I was going to start writing content for, but nto sure how to make money with it or get traffic to it.

Just thinking aloud, and was wondering if anyone could offer some tips?

Since you won't have any money to invest, I'd learn keyword research and seo..

      Hey words!

Rewriting PLR is a good idea...make sure you put your stamp on them though.

Starting a blog is a good idea too....you can write good posts and then drive people to take free offers (PLR eBook), so that you can start building your list immediately.

In addition, you could have a section showcasing your writing services, so that potential clients can see your work standard. It could also be a shop window for all your Fiverr/elance/odeask/guru tenders.

In that regard, do you have any feedback from clients as to why you did not get work? If not, directly ask them...

      Good luck!

I have people saying they are looking for a different style, or i just get denied all together. I have a hard time marketing myself and talking about why you should hire me sort of thing.

I am not sure about how the whole list building thing works or setting up Aweber, nor do I have the money for Aweber at this time.

On Elance, I have a 4.9 overall rating and get good feedback from jobs I do on there, but as far as on here, I just don't get work in general.

          Hey again!

Just rinse and repeat Elance then... and begin building in other areas.

One thing you could showoff on your site is your work already done. Put examples on areas you've already written in.

Point taken on Aweber. However, given this is your biggest goal (at this stage), I would dedicate yourself to pay it first...

          I made that mistake too...

Learn from the ones who have already made the mistakes...

Amazon is kind of picky about that (trust me, I know). You could maybe do 20% not original work (PLR), and 80% yours. So as far as kindle wise, I don't think so. Now as far as Createspace, maybe, but I don't have much experience with them.

With Kindle, it seems like the genre of the hour is fiction. If you can, maybe write some fiction and see how it goes. Try and build up a collection and keep posting on there (that is how I do it, the bigger the quantity, the more likely you will get a sale). For future reference, it is better to use fiverr or write on your own rather than use PLR. Try and make a unique product, not something that came out of a content factory .

You could sell them on Fiver or Tradebit.

Just been an interesting post on this:

Unfortunately Amazon will not permit sales of PLR books even if you rewrite them.

A couple years ago, Amazon did permit PLR on Kindle, because they didn't realize what it was. Then they began to see the same books being uploaded to Kindle from many "authors."

They then killed PLR use on Amazon. You can build your own list and sell PLR to those on your list, but if the folks you acquire on your own list are in the same niche for which you bought your PLR, they may have seen it already.

I was reading your thread about writing. You write fine, and can create your own ebooks. For a little inexpensive grammar help get a copy of "Elements of Style."

I was on a teleconference call the other day in which Tim Ferris, author of "The 4 Hour Work Week," said he doesn't like to write, but learned how to do so anyway. He has become a best-selling author.

A book he said was instrumental in helping him write better was one called "Bird By Bird," written by Anne Lamott. My wife says she has read it, an tells it is a good read.

I've heard such good recommendations for this book, for so long. I keep meaning to look at it and still haven't got round to it yet. Thanks for another reminder, Don.

To publish on Amazon you will need to completely re-write and re-word the reports. If it doesn't pass through copyscape it won't pass Amazon.

Sounds to me that your getting stressed out and trying too hard and spreading yourself thin. How about you write a Ebook about something that you love to do or about how to sell your gigs on Elance. And as far as the list building thing it could not be more simple You give something away for free for in return a Email address and Aweber is $1 for the first month .If you are going to be a marketer you need to build a list! Your list is everything. I Could kick myself in the butt for not starting to build a email list sooner...Best of luck

It's good you already have your own site. I add samples, case studies (if you can find some), testimonials (real ones), and also offer your services on other sites (like you are already doing).

You can use a variety of things to drive traffic to your site for free. Try forums, blogging, and youtube for starters.

  • If you got some PLRs and a good mind to add new content and rewrite what you got, then individuals looking for a solution in that respected niche have a good mind to purchase what you sell.

  • Now just because you don't have money to invest doesn't mean you have to "learn" a specific thing. You seem to be a step ahead of a lot of individuals if you already have a blog and are these micro-marketing websites.
Have you ever thought about writing a report (or rewriting, as you stated) on a specific niche you specialize in, then selling that report in a forum related to that niche?
