what made you start an internet biz?

I personally have always been a person that thrives to do better and better in life. I have been lucky enough to thrive in everything that I have put real effort towards. About 5 years ago I met a guy that owned mansions and awesome cars. He lived the life that most dreamed of. I was and still am a cnc machinist and make a pretty good living compared to most. I have a family and work full time so it has taken me longer than most but I feel like I am finally ready to make my first product launch on jan 1st.
I taught myself everything that I could by studying and learned a lot! The only thing I need now is experience and I am heading down that road now. It is a very exciting feeling and honestly I am scared to death of failure! I know this is a normal feeling and I also know what the out come of success can be so the excitement overwhelms the fear.
I wake up every morning at 5 a.m. for work and look in the mirror telling my self to push further and harder. I work 60 hrs a week and take care of my newborn son while driving towards this launch.

I know that I will make it and share what I have learned to others that are as driven as me. I also wish the most of luck to anyone else standing in my shoes. good luck to all!!

Despair at the way the corporate world treated its employees and its customers motivated me to find a new way to make money that would simultaneously help me escape the corporate chain. That was on close to a decade. Ever since then every cent I've earned has come via the internet and I haven't looked back once.

I think 9 to 5 is not for me.
I worked long hours and had too many clients that I couldn't handle. And in the end I burned out. I just couldn't do it. As soon as I went online I realized one important thing, that I can do one software or one course and sell it 5 times or 5000 times with the same hours spent to develop it.

Working harder may not be a choice, but I think there reaches a point in life where you need to choose between spending more than 10 hours a day and resting. Most people who have made it in life work less hours, but to reach where they are today, they worked hard. I balance between success and having a social life. Choose what you really need.

Thanks guys! And good luck to you all. I will also state that as of this date I have made exactly 2 cents online thus far. But I can honestly say that I have not really tried up untill now. This will be a big step for me and I'm ready for it. I'm excited for the trial and error portion. Testing day and night untill I can tweak it just right. Ooohhhhhhh gives me chills.lol

I am also tired of watching other people profit from my hard work and intelect so that's why its time. And if anyone believes in fate I started a new job back in august and I met my new programmer. He is older than me by a bit but seems driven like myself. So as I was talking to him one day I brought up what I work on on the side. ( now I'm used to people laughing and telling me how I'm wasting my time) well he laughed but for a different reason. He used to do a lot of article marketing for affiliate sales. So since my only downfall has been web design I asked him if he could do that type of work and he does. So needless to say I've partered up with a better half. What he can't do I can. What I can't do he can. So I took full advantage of the situation and started hammering. One of my ideas and now my launch date is coming up and i couldn't be more excited!

Mines is kind of a long, but I'm going to keep it short.

I was laid off back in 2009. My day started waking up to my phone ringing. It was a lady from HR telling me my services were not needed any more. As a college student, that is the last thing I needed to hear.

As those words repeatedly bounced around in my mind, I got this empty feeling in my stomach.

I was on youtube one day and came across a MMO product. I did some more digging and ran into clickbank. I did some research about clickbank and ran into Google Sniper 2.0...Purchased ran my first campaign made my first $200 and have been hooked ever since.

      So...

Overall I guess you can say I'm running from experiencing that dark empty feeling I had when I got the call from HR.

I also have 2 daughters now and just like you jkinglove, I have to build my business while raising them.

The secret to be successful with anything are fairly evident! We hear it and see it all the time. I'm sure you've heard someones success story before, right? The only thing successful people do is that they "Do Not Give Up" with chasing after their dreams!

      Stay focused and Be Encouraged!

Hope you have a successful launch jking!

Actually, I was introduced to this forum by my brother who was just starting out in IM, first.

He had tried to get me interested in it before but without much luck. However, once I met the wonderful people here, I decided to at least learn more about it all which I must admit was mind boggling to me. But I knew I couldn't find myself among better people than those I met here.

I ended up doing what I had done offline prior and I haven't looked back since. I mean I have excellent company, excellent advice, good friends and good money...I couldn't ask for more.

My Wife put a gun to my head and said. Stop playing Poker for a living or I'm out of here.
    So I did.
Kick her ass on the street I mean. No joke..

I tried a few offline startups, but got bored very easily. Was playing an MMOG for about 3 years. And one day someone asked about building a site dedicated to it. I volunteered, and soon enough realized that all the traffic it was getting could be monetized. I was hooked and havent looked back since.

I love the idea of working for myself and the independence
this gives but I started out of necessity.

But one clear advantage is that my business moves with
me where ever I go--can't beat that one. I've moved
about 6 times during the past 10 years and my business
    just goes along with me.

I don't have to worry it I'm going to get a job in the new
place. Once there is high-speed internet access then
    it's a go!

pretty much the same as most people i would imagine

i was fed up slaving away for chump change and making someone else money and building someone else`s business

it was time for a massive change and change of direction

5 years later and i look back and think it was the best, wisest, life changing and the most lucrative decision i have ever made in my life :-)

A little before 2002 I knew in my heart that working at a job for someone else was not for me. I did not know the vehicle that I was going to use at that time until I met the internet for the first time in December 2002.

Because I wanted to be my own boss and was willing to do what ever it takes for how long it takes to succeed, that I endured 5 years of failure online. After that I started to make a full time income.

It was never about nice cars or anything like that. It was always about being my own boss. When things were tough in my first 5 years online, I believed that I can succeed despite everything else.

I wanted to finally present to the world the results of my arduous and long scientific research. I had no idea that internet marketing was so complicated. I learned the truth after building my sites and having many adventures online.

So, I started with the intention to promote my own products, which were based on new discoveries. Something very risky, but I didn't know that I had to beat all this competition online…

I started really learning internet marketing only after making many mistakes for two years. The fact that I started with a specific purpose without making marketing research was a mistake. I had to get adapted to what the public wants when I realized this mistake.

This is why I advise everyone to first of all study internet marketing very well and make a business plan before taking action.

I love money. And internet marketing is easy. I've accomplished so much in my life, that i thought this would be easy too - along with having a great job. They say "more money more problems".... but this seems like a good problem to have.

Like so many posted before, a 9-5 was just not working for me.

Not to mention, I had no freedom, I was tied down to my job, had to live near it, couldn't travel anywhere because I'd have to be there the next day.

It was just not the way I wanted to live.

I want to travel, and if I want to work on making $ in a foreign country in something I know will give me the opportunity to have fun there and make it back home, this is it.

    Thank you for this thread

My main reason for investing time researching into internet business is:

Freedom of: Working hours, Finance and (most important for me) Positioning.

I can work anywhere in the world and earn depending on results not time.

I cannot stand giving my precious time for money... it's not worth it in my opinion.
