Are someone here to tel me a conversion rate for amazon site?

It would be worth building a list with this traffic that you get.
The traffic that you're getting may be still researching the products your promoting.

Also with a review site they may be clicking to see if the reviews stack up. It may give 1 or 2 good reviews on your site but when they click and see more they may read bad reviews and do not by. Just a suggestion. Review sites can produce just a lot of people who compare products and buy later.

I might get some flack for this but my honest advice would be this: Ditch Amazon affiliates. The ROI is a joke. It does work for some people but they've been doing this for years and know how to game the system. It's extremely difficult for new combers.

By the way... why don't you follow your own report on your sig to make more real money?

Too much competition in the electronics niche, also Amazon only uses 24 hour cookies, so your leads may still be looking around long after they expire...

    Hi Robiin!

Make sure you use "Buyer Keywords" to increase the chances of making that sale.

Try targeting keywords that have the product name and model number and have "Discount" "Sale" etc in there also.

If you are already doing this then I would agree that building a list allows you to promote several times and not just once.

Keep going and remember that the sooner you get the failures out of the way; the closer you are to success!

Yup, your stats do not look very good.. Amazon product reviews tend to convert pretty well (as said above, targeting product model numbers) - I would guess that maybe your traffic is not very targeted.

It would be a good idea to build you own list instead of sending people right to your offer.

It is kind of strange to see 500 visitors and 0 sales.

Maybe check your link to see if it is the right one.

A couple of things could be wrong,
Check your links and make a dummy sale yourself to see if its all connected properly.

Secondly, look at the site and see if you're missing any key elements for appropriate call to action and if needed add more around the site to encourage users to buy from you.

Lastly, I suppose link-building could help your presence online.

The product that you are promoting could be overpriced currently at Amazon. There are many vendors on Amazon that inflate prices on products. If the person can get the item somewhere else for less they will.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[7390271].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author cello
It could be due to the actual products that you are promoting. If for example, it's a larger investment for the consumer, the decision will include research and more than 24 hours (bye-bye Amazon cookie!). Be sure that your keywords are tailored to the decided buyers, not the researchers.

Also, I second the motion that you check out your links. Not a single sale... That's pretty weird...

    Best of luck to you!

I'd say ditch Amazon. The % of commission is awful there's so many better networks out there that are smaller and give you more in return.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[7390469].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author petemcal
I'd agree that the % comission and ROI from amazon affiliates is pretty poor. But amazon does have a lot of customer trust, you'd find it even harder to convince clickers to make a purchase on a website that they do not know.

So a bigger % commission will not always mean more profit at the end of the day.

        Okay, here we go

        1. Improve the review itself

You are trying to pre-sell a high-end (and high-priced!) product. You need to say more than "is the most excellent choice". People who are actually going to buy an item of this price online are probably quite comfortable with tech stuff. They need more than just the "It's good!" review to make the call. That's on the "jargon".

The review is not written in proper english either.

So basically, no "cold, hard facts" and no "persuasive language". No incentive, really.

        Hire a better writer

        2. Re-vamp your call-to-action

You are telling people to click for product details. That's exactly what they're doing! You need to tell them to buy man

        3. Include actual reviews

This product is a whopping 4.6 stars on Amazon. Can't see that mentioned anywhere on your website. 84 reviews? You could be paraphrasing 4 - 5 of them and link to the actual reviews with your affiliate link. Social proof

        Oops, that's more than a couple :p

It's illogical to get so much targeted traffic, and no Amazon sales. I'd advise you check out your affiliate links. It may redirect incorrectly, you may have a typo somewehere, or you are hacked, and someone else is collecting the commission.

EDIT: You have a weight-loss link in the footer. Did you really put it there? It looks like your site has been hacked...

I think it is possible. The clicks that are shown on the merchant account may not be legit. They could be made by the same scoundrel that collects the commission--just to get the owner thinking everything is OK.

If you were a student of mine, here's the advice I would give you:

    1) Start building a list RIGHT NOW! That traffic is gone and never coming back! Ever!
    2) Is that product on Amazon.com's excluded products list?
    3) The cookie expires in 24 hours. Are you targeting the right keywords.
    4) LCD TVs have blisteringly tough competition. Are you sure you want to compete in this space? If yes, see #1 above
    5) Find the most sought after accessories for this LCD. Rank for those products (hint: if they're looking for accessories, they're more likely ready to purchase the item).
    6) Last, but certainly NOT LEAST! Are you sure the links are appropriately formatted? Is it possible that you messed up the links somehow and aren't getting credit? I don't even know if that's possible. I would ask a friend to buy something cheap to test it out.

Good luck my friend! Hope this helps!

You should definitely make a test purchase yourself. You'll be able to see if your links are bad/hacked, or if your site just isn't converting. Do this first, then you'll be able to determine what the next step should be.

It has been proven that it generally takes showing a person the same product 5-7 times before they will purchase from you.

So start building your email list - and give them valuable information then sprinkle in your affiliate offers. By doing this you can make a 1 time customer, a recurring one if you provide them with great value each week.

There are so many people promoting the same products you do. Why should your visitors buy from you? You must be somehow special if you want to make them order from your site and not from another one.

Simply put, TVs don't sell as well online as you might think. Conversions in this niche are super low because of the competitive prices at local stores. Nobody really wants to wait for their TV to arrive.

Well, people don't like to read because they're so busy. When they're searching - they're scanning. Catch their eyes with a review something like this:
      1. LG Smart TV delivers a nearly limitless world of entertainment in a fun and intuitive way. It's smart made simple.
      2. With it's 1080p display - it provides the highest quality progressive-scan picture possible from a High-Def source. High resolution & clear view.
      3. Black is the color of the day here: it's elegant & matches any room decour. The flat screen gives you a great view.
      4. Has a Magic Remote cursor that makes it easy click on the full QWERTY keyboard on the TV screen.
      5. Great reception quality - digital & analog tuner.
      6. Thin-film transistors gives you a quality picture that make other TV's jealous. The sound on this baby is fantastic. Gotta check it out! Go here to buy. (hyperlink)
*I tried to make this a "Bulleted List" instead of a "Numbered List". I'm sure there's a way to do - just couldn't figure it out.

**Also, people like to look at videos instead of reading. Have you thought about putting some of your reviews to video & hiring an American Voiceover?

Wish you the best of luck - it's tough out here in Cyberland. But, not as touch as owning your own Brick & Mortar business - where you have to pay for rent & electricity & taxes & employees.

    Hi,

You need to build a list instead of thinking of selling things to your visitors.

Do you always buy things when you first visit a place? I am sure you will have a second thought before you make your decision.

In the world of Internet, you need to eithert catch the attention of your visitors or to keep them in your list so that you can promote things to them.
