But it wasn't widely reported as a 'potential pandemic'. And I have yet to hear any newscaster refer to that cluster of cases 9 years ago.

Why the Monkeypox reports now? Because we are 'pandemic focused' - but perhaps more than that.

The CDC/administration just recommended vaccines for 5-12 yr old and perhaps for younger children as well. The FDA does not seem to agree with this.... Could the CDC be trying to 'refocus' the conversation? I'm far from an anti-vaxer but I would think long and hard before giving these shots to young children.
I think it's hard for the CDC to operate without bias (let alone operate) considering the major donors to this organisation are the drug companies themselves.

For me personally, the revelation of data connected with coronavirus in NK was a real shock. I was sure that the country was engulfed with the amount of infected people even during the first wave back to 2020.

The government's policy and political system which is built in the NK didn't allow the party actors to reveal the official statistics in order not to create a panic in the society, which is already subordinated to the party. I am convinced that something that we behold these days is just a new, cunning plan of the country's rulers. However, we can only guess but not state for sure.
Perhaps, there is a chance that it may happen because of huge amounts of infected people and the rulers preferred to secure himself and his family by lockdown.

The CDC is a federal agency. It's funded by the US government. It's been a government agency, funded by the US government since 1946. It is not funded by drug companies.

It is not funded by drug companies.
Was not intended to be but since the addition of the CDC Foundation the lines have blurred.

CDC Foundation has accepted contributions from Abbot Labs, Pfizer, Merck, Biogen, etc and millions from names like Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bloomberg, etc. etc.

Edit: I believe the CDC is non-biased but these donations make it harder to convince the public of its non-bias.

That's what I was thinking. I mean why are federal agencies getting donations or needing outside funding? Their "donations" come from income and other taxes we all pay.

But then, I found this that shows they solicit and accept cash donations from others. https://www.cdc.gov/partners/gift-funding.html

Even though the gifts received are tiny blips compared to the other circle in the graph, I was surprised to find this. But now that I've seen it with my own eyes and not through some conspiracy site, I wouldn't be shocked to find that there *may* be all kinds of gifts, contributions, back scratching, etc. going on that we don't know about. Who in their right mind would think a federal agency was soliciting funds?

Just blows my mind how some sources can be seen as credible no matter if you actually counted the lies and inconsistencies on a public counter....but Fauci the scientist gets Death Threats for doing his job.

Another scientist was fired and FBI raided her home because she refused to manipulate data.

Welcome to crazy world.

All big Pharma companies, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, Merck & Co, and more are all owned by the same company, Blackrock aka Vanguard.
This same company also owns Disney, NY Times, Legacy Media, Coke, Pepsi, Amazon, FB, Google, Apple, and the list goes on. They are the world's two largest assets firms.

Libraries in what ever backwards country you may live in may differ from the libraries I have been to around the USA. As the only places you might smell farts from other people are the public computers. And someone would have to crap their pants and pee on themselves.. for it to be bad enough for any announcement.

And at that point they are calling in the emts

I just received another email from the govt - telling me I should apply for THREE free orders of 8 Covid tests each....on top of the previous test kits we received.

I'd still like to know the name of those in 'office' who own stock in the test production companies. Why would I need 24 more 'free' tests?

Clean up in aisle 3 (as usual)...

I now have 8 or 18 or 24? covid test kits that were mailed to me. The good news is I was told I can get more (as Kay said above).

I got both vaccines...but I've stopped short of getting the boosters.

Every time I come out of my underground bunker I hear about people that seemingly are dropping over dead for no apparent reason...

conspiracy?

Not sure.

Maybe I need to unfriend more on Facebook that are filling my mind with these crazy ideas...

The tests may not be as accurate with new variants, so the drive to pitch out current Rat Tests, (and since the gov, funds it to a point, no doubt making a buck as well) takes over.

Same thing happening here, Kay, or get a prescription and they will throw one in, no questions asked if you are eligible for one.

Good that you are changing your tune, over what l saw here a year or two ago, and conspiracy theorist isn't an accurate assessment, more alone the lines of lifelong para grim shattering self realizations!

I did end up getting a booster.

Based on all the evidence, there is no denying the vaccine saved many lives in my opinion.

I don't think that is happening....there are enough studies that no matter what you believe you can find a study to 'prove it'.

What I KNOW is that in the past 6 weeks, over 30 people I'm acquainted with - have tested positive and been sick for 3-5 days. No hospitals, no serious illness, no deaths....and all but two were vaccinated. Did the vacc help? Who knows? Who cares? Every person has made their own decision by now.

I had covid for a week or so last year. My problems have been since I recovered. Suddenly this long covid symptoms started. Still a year after I am not back to myself. I hope there is some hope or help for the long covid sufferers. Almost feels like a key is turned and I am in a new body which is less efficient than before.

That has become a real problem - and so far there don't seem to be solutions for it. I had covid in jan 21 and several weeks later I was worried about the 'long covid' that people were mentioning.

I was lucky - it was just taking me longer to get my strength back but the 'long covid' seems to be a serious problem for many.

What does your doctor have to say about it?

Agreed, that is why l choose not to discuss it in depth.

But since all restrictions and rules are virtually gone now, l can be more candid with my own experiences.

I have had Covid about three times in the last 2.5 years, (Delta being the worst) but l have had flu's that where far worse. And Zero jabs or boosters.

I can't really speak for yourself, (since l don't know if you have been jabbed/boosted) but for me, this Long Covid, appears to be a misdiagnoses or shifting blame for what prolonged lockups, isolation, travel restrictions and little to no social life does to the human being.

I have been through the longest lockdowns on the planet, and know plenty, some jabbed and boosted to the hilt, who suffer prolonged symptoms, but that is isolation and listening to msm on the tv and radio than anything else, who tell them to be scared of BA1, BA2.

10% of school children in my state, have ADHD, or other social issues, that was only because they couldn't go out to school, etc. That isn't long Covid, just bad restrictions, little real research and a lust for power.

I can't really speak for yourself

Of course you cannot - you are not a doctor. You also should not be dismissing someone's symptoms or diagnoses based on your non-medical opinion. Please do not do that.

Agreed. If a government pays for the vaccines, and you get the vaccine for free....that means they are making money. Why? Because paying for something means doesn't mean it cost you anything. Logic.

The evidence is pretty conclusive. In the US about 80% of adults have been vaccinated. But nearly all the deaths from Covid come from the unvaccinated minority. That's a lab test with a third of a billion participants over more than 2 years.

Stoopidest thing evah?

Plenty people woulda been around to contest summa the arguments we seen here now kinda frickin' ain't.

I pickin' sides here?

Between the gone an' the potentially spun?

In my Virus vs Us capacity, yeah, I would wanna stick up for Us. As in 'we', even if'n you naht inclooded, or don't wanna. & speshly for evrywan from whom sumone was taken.

Says who our (I write for hoomans so that is what I mean by 'our'; if'n you sum way crazy fish creatyoore, likely what happens next is naht for you, Sweetie) spectaculah brainpowah an' print-on-demand Ts an' filosofizin' surprzzingly random gonna spare us from a zaaahmbie apocalypse level up in the popyooler imagination of evident doom?

"You can't fight those things! They are so small, their evil cannot be detected and nullified without recourse to enslaving all Virgos!"

A palatably trustworthy analysis of life an' death arises no sweeter an' trooer than from a Virgo imho.

Hey, so mebbe we can breed 'em up from outta fate's sicko posset ... the wan in 12 "we could sure use 'em types" types.

*Virgo speculation ovah. Or mebbe you Scorpio. Don't actshwlly mattah, next part. Jus' sayin'.*

So here is my question.

How may you naht have been changed by Covid?

"It never happened, darling! It was just a dream!"

In our touchpoint with all available succor we gotta watch out for stuff like this, tellya.

The regularity of the ponderous an' the curious co-inhabits an evolvin' space equally at the mercy of the livin' an' the dead (an' I inclood here dinosaurs, bcs you know they would have a say in this whole species-slayin' virus routine if'n they could — the toothy, scaly, proto-bird fkrs!)

Point is: how may you have been blessed with sum spectacuarly alternative life narrative had people-slayin' stuffs naht directly impacted 'pon your zisstance? Speshly if'n they were only imaginary?

What else mighta you been splerfutteratin' out all places instant rn?

Worst case scenario?

Ok, fair point, l assumed that they were getting a cut, but cannot find any evidence of that.

But in AU, we can get 10 Rat tests every three months, or they are throwing them at us.

If it were me, I would insist they send the test for humans.

Im not arguing here...just making a point.... The largest number of deaths is from the older population, correct? that population just so happens to be by percentage the highest vaccinated - to this day - this statement holds true. ( https://www.statista.com/statistics/...vid-by-age-us/ )

I have said this before... there are underlying variables, there are other numbers that need to be considered - such as pneumonia, and influenza. The States averages about 50k deaths per year prior to 2019. BUT, 2020 to present we are taking 1.4 million ( https://www.statista.com/statistics/...ia-and-flu-us/ )

1 Million ( +/- ) deaths from Covid and 1.4 Million from pneumonia, and influenza - and by averages there should be 100k by pneumonia, and influenza at the end of this year.

The WHOLE story / truth is there have been 2.4 million deaths related to Covid... 95% being over the age of 50 and in excess of 50% of them have been from vaccinated individuals.

Success is an ACT not an idea

When corona hit it was a national security concern...

something new. What was it? Was it planned? What would happen? Panic?

We came up with a vaccine in record time...and in my opinion, saved a ton of lives...

was it the best? Was it perfect? Would we do things differently?

I'll always be on the side of those who did something as far as vaccines. I'll never be one of those that sit around and wonder if it was the wrong decision. Things happen quickly, and those that can react quickly are the heroes. They don't always get everything right...but they're the ones that are there when we need them.

I'm quite sure this will be one of the biggest things anyone in our lifetime remembers...also pretty sure there will be other things to come...

Interesting point! I think it would be extremely useful to have an objective analysis of all the data regarding C19...I know, that's like asking for the impossible, but since I read the book "Lying through statistics" I see how gross and easy is to throw numbers and data that means nothing to prove or disprove a point...Questioning things is a healthy habit
