If Its Too Good To be True, It's Usually on Fiverr.

Recently I have been back to Fiverr as i'm tinkering with an experimental site and I genuinely think there is some good solutions on Fiverr.

Oddly enough, I think it is about 5% of their gigs that are legitimate, genuine and original services that do what they say they will do and actually be of value to you.

I have purchased 3 different traffic services all claiming to send "Real Human Traffic".

Of the 3 that I purchased, 2 where absolute total scams which where sending bots to the site and one of the sellers was so blatantly arrogant he was telling me to not use analytics and instead to check my server logs as analytic's is the worse traffic tracking service!

Lol!

I swiftly cancelled and reported him and the other seller to Fiverr's support.

The third like a diamond in the rough however has actually come to the table with real human traffic as promised.

It might not be the best traffic (buyer traffic), but at least it allows me to test what I want to test which at the moment is the stickiness of the posts, bounce rate, click through's to links and banners etc.

Dont give up on Fiverr just yet.

Well, you usually get what you pay for. And when it comes to buying traffic on Fiverr, you usually don't get anything worthwhile In the past I sometimes made use of their twitter traffic offers (tweeting your message to x hundred thousand people) but quickly figured out those were all fake accounts following each other instead of real humans.

Usually, those gigs that actually ARE worth your time are sold out to a point where you have to wait 15 days+ for your order.

      Exactly, good point!

Also I noticed not to listen to any of the positive reviews unless they contained concrete information. Most of them just say thanks and a little salutation which does not help you at all when making a buying decision.

.....Plus most testimonials are fake. so, lack of trust is a big issue there.

fake testimonials? This would tarnish the reputation of the business, why would fiverr allow this?

There are a few things I would NEVER buy from Fiverr no matter what:

    1. Book Covers - We actually had a customer of ours get a legal letter because of a $5 ebook cover they bought from Fiverr because the Fiverr person used a copyright image. You'd have to be crazy to use Fiverr for book covers.

    2. SEO & Traffic Services - Nobody on Fiverr is going to give you valuable SEO services for $5 and if they do anything for you at all, it will hurt you much more than help you.

I would also think that a $5.00 eCover would not look professional at all?

      Hi Paul,

I totally disagree. You can get things done like SeNuke blasts to build backlinks to your backlinks (link pushing, which is legal) This is helpful if you don't want to spend the money on SeNuke or your time setting up a campaign.

As for book covers... At one point I had my VA (who is also a graphic designer) doing design gigs on Fiverr. I quit having her do that because even though she was doing professional work that was worth more than 10x what she got on Fiverr, people always wanted more than they were paying for. They didn't want to pay for non-copyrighted images or fonts that they wanted. When we added credit for images we used, buyers would reject jobs and complain. It really was a losing situation.

I totally agree with you TeamBringIt.
I have used fiverr several times and although on greater percentage of the times i have used fiverr, i have gotten deliveries that are so poor but occassionally, when i research the sellers very well before buying, i end up getting satisfied.

Just recently, i ordered a gig from a seller who promised to share my link to his facebook friends and also post it to his blog. He delivered the job and when i checked on the proofs provided, i realized that he must have gotten fake friends and even the blog he posted on was a fresh wp blog with the hello world theme.

I requested for a refund but he keeps marking the order as completed. He did that for up to 3 times and i almost forgot about the refund. He was fortunate to have got it marked as completed.

I was not ready to spare him. I voluntarily gave him a PROFESSIONAL negative rating which will scare away any reasonable potential buyers away from him.

But, all the same, we still get good stuffs from some niches on fiverr.

  • Fiverr is a good place to get things done, but yes, granted that you actually find a very commendable provider, but isn't too difficult to find those individuals.
I think all the goodness in fiverr is in fact 100% truthful, but only if you have a sense on finding the individuals that can do the job.

I don't understand how you could possibly think you were getting thousands of real human visitors for $5.

Also, fiverr is a great place for certain things, traffic is certainly not one of them, and I'm sure that is extremely obvious.

I have never hired someone from Fiverr to do anything for me so I can't comment on too much but I always felt like a $5 for anything could not be too good. I am probably wrong though. Maybe I will take a look at it sometime.

I've had some excellent logo design work done on Fiverr, and also some terrible design work done. Even sample work can be misleading. But in my experience, 5 bucks to find out isn't the worst thing in the world.

Totally agree. A great logo can cost hundreds of $$ to develop. I can try 40 of the logo sellers for $200 and at least one of them should be good *fingers crossed*, and that's still pretty good value.

But more than that, you never have to spend that $200 again, you just keep going back to the sellers that were really good.

But going into Fiverr and hoping to nail it on the first gig that you buy is like going into a casino with $5 in your hot little hand and hoping that you win big on your first blackjack hand.

That is right. You don't understand.

When I see my stats on unique visitors go up, when I see my page views go up, when I see my bounce rate come down, when I see my sign ups go up and when I have people actually email me that have come through these channels go up, usually it means these are real human visitors.

There are many thousands upon thousand of people and businesses selling on fiverr, some do it for legitimate reasons, others do it for less ethical reasons. You cannot simply lump everyone into one pile and say traffic is certainly not one of the things fiverr cannot supply when the facts state otherwise. What is this some kind of new website prejudice? Lol!

You have to understand that usually the traffic providers that do a good job just leverage fiverr so that they can attract customers to their own business and usually they have to be clever enough when doing it so not to get caught blatantly promoting their services outside of fiverr.

This one particular seller uses a very clever yet simple technique where he routes all the traffic from his blog and site network back through his own domain so I can see exactly that it came from his website.

Ask and you shall receive, right? Or in this case seek and you shall find...

      My gain, your loss.

Not all the Fiverr gigs that are "too good to be true" are
false. I use Fiverr to generate leads for my higher
paying services and products and so I use Firverr
as a "loss leader". I'm sure there are other sellers
    who do the same.

I've had similar experiences with Fiverr and am now pretty skeptical of any service offered there.

One quick way to help discern the good from the bad is to check the number of unique feedback responses to number of "collected this gig". The scammers usually have waaaay more glowing reviews than the number of gigs actually sold.

You have to know what are the real bargains on fiverr.
I would never buy any SEO related gig as the damage could be huge.
HOWEVER - all those video testimonials, voice overs, video intros are worth WAY MORE than $5, and that's where you get the real value.

There are way too many services and sellers on fiverr for anyone to say you "get what you pay for". It's just like in the forums and real world where we have lots of population, there will definitely be the good, the bad and the ugly.

Fiverr has it's uses but you gotta use your own common sense when buying them. I've tested some SEO gigs there were cool and design as well. Traffic NEVER. The voice overs are great as well. You gotta look at the negative reviews more than the good ones because you get more detail about the gig itself from an upset user.

I got scammed one time off of fiverr.

The Seller said he would make me three headers for my websites, and come to find out he didn't even create them.
He went to X-Header Graphics, (FREE software) downloaded three headers and gave them to me.

I didn't know about X-Header at the time, but was unimpressed with the designs and asked for a revision. I never heard from this person again.

Not too long after that - he was no longer on Fiverr!

You really have to do some research before buying.

I usually stick to the sellers who have a 5-6 day delivery time -- They seem to be the ones who deliver good work.
