There stats are all incorrect if you are sending out text emails , which 90% of marketers are . One of their support guys told me today that if you are using text emails, the stats will show up incorrectly. In order words you might think you have many people opening your emails when infact only a few are and visa versa . I was checking one of my lists today and the stats said that on one of the emails , i had only 200 people open the email and had 1400 click on the link in the email. Here is what the aweber support guy said. "I see what is happening. Click tracking will be accurate. Open rate will not. Open rate tracking only applies for messages in HTML format. Click tracking applies for messages in both formats. Open Rate tracking applies for messages in HTML format. I am sorry, but anybody here will inform you of the same thing. Accurate results cannot be obtained for open rate tracking for messages in plain text format only. The reason why open rates are even recorded for messages in plain text is because I see you have the analytics package. When the analytics is on your page the open rates are captured whenever a link is clicked. As I stated before, I apologize for the inconvenience"

Its pretty scary to think that aweber is probably the leading autoresponder system online and that there tracking is all wrong when you use text emails.
Getting your subscribers to open you emails takes a lot of time, effort and testing and if aweber cannot give accurate results it makes the job impossible to improve on.
