Do Newsletter subscribers Get Automatically Registered At My Site?
I did that because people were registering using the url/wp-login.php?action=register and not my Subscribe to Newsletter Form, (so I thought they were probably spammers.)
I'd assumed that Newsletter Subscribers and Registered Users were the same thing, but obviously they are not.
Question: Is there any advantage to me as blog owner of allowing people to Register at my blog (which is not my Email List, is it?)
The only advantage I give them is via the Meta Widget which (if installed), allows them to subscribe to the blog & get notifications of new articles, login (not required to have full access to my site) have a profile (which does nothing other than chance to change their Password).
It also gives them the option to subscribe to the RSS Feed and the Comments RSS feed, but I already have a Feedburner option to allow them to do that.
I don't give them any additional posting or contributing rights, just to be a Subscriber/reader if they sign up.
Now I've installed Commentluv, with the chance to choose from their last 10 posts but only if they Register.
Question (Recap) what do I get out of having Subscribers subscribing to my blog?
Thanks in advance - you clever geeks here always give me good answers - it's appreciated
