Is it OK to set up more than one YouTube account - and is there any way they can find out or even close you down becuase of this

I have many videos now in one account and I really don't want to put all my eggs in one basket.

Thanks if anyone can give any advice

I've got about 15 different accounts, none shut down so far, touch wood.

I'm in the same position than above, and it's ok.
YouTube didn't take any accounts yet, but you never know with the update the they're doing from time to time. Maybe one day it won't be allowed anymore.
But, for now on go for it.

I have who knows how many accounts, and never been banned for them. I don't really do anything with them, just forget the logins

To the best of my knowledge, you can have more than one account. Just be
careful they way you use them. YouTube has been cracking down on marketers
and yanking accounts of those who essentially use YouTube as a marketing
medium. I had one of my 2 accounts yanked so I am speaking from experience.
And all I had were informational videos. I wasn't even promoting anything. But
because they were about Internet marketing, they were yanked.

Yes, I know there are still a lot of IM videos out there. Doesn't mean they
won't someday be yanked as well.

Just be careful. That's all I'm saying.

You can have many different Youtube accounts and will not be banned unless you do something pretty outrageous.

I would just recommend not to recycle your videos and use them on different accounts. If you want to do this then you are going to have to either shorten or lengthen the video so youtube sees it as original content.

Whaaaa? They actually WANT you to link up your accounts. GMAIL-YOUTUBE-G+-ADSENSE, etc.

This is unnecessary as you can have as many gmail and youtube accounts as you like. Have you NOT noticed the sign out option also has - "sign in with a different account" on gmail?

The risk in losing a Youtube account has nothing to do with how many you have. It has EVERYTHING to do with the content you upload and your general standing in the Youtube community.

I highly recommend creating a separate google/youtube/gmail account for every niche you working in.

They don't like marketers though. Especially affiliate marketers. They can and do ban multiple accounts in one fell swoop if they feel like it.

Yes, I also recommend creating separate accounts for each niche. But if you intend on taking on video in a big way with more than just 2 or 3 accounts then you're best taking the precautions I advise.

But by all means, create 10 accounts for 10 niches and upload 30 high quality videos to each and just keep your fingers crossed that you'll never get everything banned in an instant!
Thanks Chris. If you have high quality video - meaning they provide value to the viewer, there won't be any need to "cross fingers". You are specifically talking about content here. Personally I feel that if you create valuable content, you won't have to worry at all about "precautions".

Your underlying message seems to be in regards to IMers who want to game Youtube - and yes - they need precautions because they cannot rely on long term success with Youtube. The OP mentioned nothing about gaming the system, but only about multiple accounts.

Agree as I have more than 5 youtube accounts some of which are used for different niches. So I don't want to have all of them linked together.

Say one account is me being an expert in the dog training niche for example, I wouldn't want to be posting videos about how to make money online in that same account..

Yes, you can have more then one account with YouTube.

If they don't like your content for some reason and think that you violated their terms and conditions, they will find a way to get to all of your accounts and delete one by one.

I would not put all my eggs into YouTube because you just never know. You can have over 100 videos in your arsenal and get many visitors per day. What happens if they do take you down? You want to have other sources of traffic running for you so that you are "insured".

Agree and with all the different niches use different alias. Become the expert with the different niches. Otherwise be cautious with links and social views. Learn what you can and cannot do with the different proxies and IP's. Nothing wrong with testing limits!

You can have multiple channels. You want to build subscribers right? The most important thing is to make great, consistent content. If you want to do another subject then you want a new channel so you can stay relevant to people who subscribe. YouTube will close your account if you violate terms.

if you use multiple youtube accounts, use proxies or vpn to keep em safe. If you handle it correctly, none will get banned. Good luck.
