I'm going to be embarking on my IM journey AGAIN, but im a bit lost!

Hi there everybody!

I just wanted to thank you for having the time and energy to coming to this thread to help me out a bit. A couple months back I spent about a month on a big project selling a piece of software I coded. It was very popular and everything went actually DECENTLY well.

I was losing in all my other tactics (CPA, PTC, you NAME it) and remembered I have always had my success in WHITEHAT Internet Marketing. I have a question for all you marketers out their;

I'm trying to build a list. One of my very first. I think I have a VERY nice squeeze page, a nice domain, and more. However, I'm interested in getting optins. I've been working so hard and I'M JUST DIEING to make that first sale on ClickBank.com. After so much work I've put in, I can't take another day of $0.00.

My website is NewbiesListBuilding.com, and I'm trying to promote and giveaway a powerful piece of software I coded a few months back and sold but now want to give it away with some tricks I used as a freebie for the whole List Building niche. Am I doing it right?

I have to ask, what do YOU guys do? I'm just started up an organized check-list that has all my tasks I goaled for myself to do EVERYDAY in order to meet my goals. I'm currently making 3 slide slideshows on SlideShare.com and posting them up with my clickbank affiliate links. To help build my list, I'm using forums and Reddit.com but I wouldn't really mind getting a facebook page going or what not.

What do all of you recommend I do? I'm still learning, and I REALLY appreciate the help. You don't know how much it means.

Regards,
-Alex

the landing page is too plain, not eye-catching, the content is cluttered, you need to make your software features and benefits stand out, and $30 is not convincing, make it $99, if you don't have confidence in your software, no one else will. if it's not getting enough visitors for you, I suggest build a blog on list building and work on SEO to get targeted traffic and use pop up to capture optins. just my 2 cents

Have an ecover of the software made, and lose some of the text.

Also, change the text in this thread, I felt like I was reading an IBM computer screen from the 70's

All he needs to do is make the background of the thread black, and change the font colors orange

If your trying to make it with Clickbank your earning potential is INCREDIBLY low. The people who make a living with Clickbank have to put leverage in place through methods like syndication, massive cheap paid traffic, building a big list, etc. Lets look at how the "gurus" earn their money. They put affiliates under them to promote their product. They make thousands of dollars on the backend which by the way Clickbank affiliates don't get. They ultimately have two crucial elements missing as a Clickbank product. Massive leverage potential with a team of affiliates beneath them. And the ability to make thousands of dollars per person with backend products. I will just say once I had my first $1,000 day from one transaction which I could of not had through any Clickbank product I saw the light...

Hi! I'm glad to hear you're giving the business another go. You're definitely

doing the right thing by building a list. Now the next thing I'm going to ask you

to do is going to be hard. Stop:confused: Thinking about sales for a moment. Take the

next two months and only focus on building your list and building relationships

with the people on it. This gets the potential customer more comfortable and

allows them to know they're not stepping into another con. Once you start

building a good relationship with your list I GUARANTEE the sales are not far behind.

Also I noticed that the URL link is how he says it is but at the name bar it says squeeze page.

So is this kind of site what we call a squeeze page? And at the same time he's getting the emails of the ones who puts it there?

Yeah. Same thing other's have been saying. Squeeze is shit. Fix that up and ye'll be right.

Why don't you split test your squeeze page?
But if people are registering that find. unlike a lot of marketers i don't like to have very high converting squeeze page. Because you will get all those freebies and that in my opinion is useless. I prefer to target the people who register.

Build up a relationship with them before selling anything.

But, when you sold your software. Did you integrate any autorespondeurs to yous payment button?

Because, then you will have a nice list of buyers.

So it was going well and you decided to stop selling it and give it away for free? Why would you do this?

If you're trying to sell Clickbank products to THIS kind of crowd, you're going to have a tough time as the majority of people will purchase through their own link.

If you're going after Clickbank, try to find some vendors that whitelist or what I would recommend is starting to look for products on JVZoo, DigiResults, RapBank, Simple One Click and other instant pay affiliate networks.

Definitely get a monetization plan in place before focusing on building the actual list or you're putting 'the cart before the horse'.

I can not thank all of you more.

I didn't expect the overwhelming feedback. I'm going to be making some serious changes to my squeeze page and hope for some results. Also, I'M SUPER EXCITED. Just got my first 7 Confirmed Optins!

Well done on the opt ins - but now what are you going to do with them?

The advice of just build a list and they will is come is total bs. You need to understand what proper internet business looks like and I dont think you do.

Find a niche of people who have a problem (the niche you are targetting is you - the person who has no idea of what to do). Offer them a solution - your software.
Then build a relationship with that list and sell them other stuff from time to time.

The building the relationship is key - not as easy as it looks. At all times you need to come across as the expert - that way people will trust and listen to you.

Ok thanks, appreciate all the help everyone taking note of all this. I have found my niche, list building, which I decided was perfect as my software that was originally paid along with my favorite tip it includes was a great gift to offer for free for optins. It really is pretty useful.

I currently have a couple 8 opt-ins, should I wait until I have hundreds of people.. or should I wait until things are settled in and I have a huge list.

      Thanks
      Alex!

A great way to build your list and get opt ins and redo your squeeze page so it is more attractive to read, and give a FREE GIFTaway.

This can be a short 8 page ebook or video. On your squeeze page you will tell them the benefits they will get from readying or watching your gift.

then after they have opt in - you simply build a relationship with them by providing regular helpful content, then find products they may find interested in buying.

    Hi,

Rewrite this>>> "I'm willing to give back to marketers by offering my $99 software and KILLER tips I sold 2 months ago, for FREE." <<< Make it short and sweet!! Headlines are suppose to pop out at the reader and grab their attention to keep them interested in reading the rest of the page.

In addition to the other comments re: design, etc... do you know the answers to these core questions:

Who do you want on the list? Who is your target market? How is your target market getting to your website? Why should they join your list over all the other lists out there? Do you know if your target market has any need of the giveaway you are using?

    Answering these should help.

Not sure if you should be in the IM/list building niche if you dont already know the answers to the basic questions that you asked.

I would enter into a different niche. Do you have any backend products lined up? I think you should enter into a non-internet marketing niche....

....but you will probably ignore me anyway, and lose lots of money in the process.

I think I'm going to stay away from the blogging niche, which isn't really my type of thing.

Going to go with social media and building a list.
