Yes. Either. But one of those ideas is very much better and safer than the other.

Good ones: Wordpress(.org) blogs hosted at Byethost, 000Webhost, Freehostia (all free hosts who don't put any of their own advertising on your pages).

Reasonable ones: blogs made at Weebly, Wix, Yola (not for Wordpress sites: they each have their own free, built-in site-builder).

    To be avoided
(because you can never own your own site there, and they're not safe and have severe and ever-changing TOS problems relating to commercial usage): Blogspot/Blogger, wordpress.com, Tumblr, Squidoo, HubPages.

You can also make and host free squeeze-pages at 90 Second Squeeze Page .

Believe it or not Alexa, I have been online for over 14 years now and had never used a free host until you posted about them a few days back.

As I am always on the look out for free resources for my list members, I tested a squeeze a couple of nights ago on one of the free host. Almost $1100 in sales later .. I thank you.

I have an account at Byethost but am actually not using it at the moment. I've never tried 000WebHost or Freehostia, myself. But hosting can be a "real issue" for people either without the money to pay, and for some people with the money who (because of their country-location making their credit-card no use and/or PayPal unavailable to them), and it's good that there are such places: almost anything's better than using Blogger or wordpress.com for this. :p

I think it's probably fair comment, though, that a paid host is likely to be more reliable and give people more security in the long run.

I've heard good things about Hostica.com, as well: they charge only $1 per month for one site (but that's going up in 2013).

I think the one I used was host free web dot net.

Threw a WP blog on it and used weaver theme (original) to set up the squeeze.

Now I would not recommend using a free host as a vendor to run an affiliate offer through as I am pretty sure one good affiliate would burn the site down lol.

I would never suggest blogger or even Wp com but have used Weebly and Yola (back when they were synthesite). They are actually pretty decent if you are not looking for a WP type set up. Even a hillbilly like me can use their WYSIWYG and throw up a decent page.
