Building a business from scratch - What to do?

What's up Warriors

So, I'm just starting to build an online information business from scratch. Truthfully, I've been lurking around the WF for a while now but haven't really taken massive action on anything I learned

Right?

I don't know why it took me so long, but whatever, I snapped out of it and I'm now in the process of creating my first sales funnel.

I'm just wondering what are your experiences with product creation and sales funnel setup?

I'm not talking about theory here, more about real world experience...

I'm looking for any info on:

-sales letter insight (video or text)
-easiest affiliate program setup
-upsells after purchase or email follow up or BOTH
-when can I start sending traffic?
-etc. etc.

I would also appreciate if you could share any problems you faced and how to overcome them

Cheers

Dan

    Hi,

First thing would be to think about what you are doing as a real business, and treat it that way. Too many make their business a 'side project', and then it gets treated like that, something on the side.

My number one suggestion is to build your business based on a market, not on any idea you have. Have a specific market that you are targeting, regardless of you selling your own products or affiliate products.

In regards to your own products, if you go that route, similar suggestion. Take your time and do some real market research before you start creating any product.

So base your business on a market and what that market needs or wants.

    Enjoy the ride!

Hey Warren, thanks for the advice!

I'm a little further into the process though. I've already chosen my niche/target market and have begun building my front-end product.

I'm basically looking for good ideas to maximize my sales funnel and make the least mistakes possible along the way

Sounds good. Is your product based on solid market research? If you are making your own product that is one if the most important issues, lots of people have made the mistake of thinking they knew what their market wanted.

Make sure you have a good opt-in and start building the list right away. That was a mistake I made years ago, I was selling for about 2 entire years before I started my list. This was years ago, and I didn't know better! Give some killer content and your opt-in will grow fast.

    Hi,

You can also use targeted double opt-in emails to build your list.
I would use both video and text for the sales letter, you will be targeting a broader audience using both. Find out which converts better. also look at the demographics of each.
Remember to add some "killer content" before you start up-selling!
Start sending traffic when your sales funnel is complete.

    Regards

Get copies out to good sources and gain reviews once your happy with the quality of what your offering, put that into the sales pages where possible to show social proof and also see if you can get some highly targeted leads in the run up to the launch using as many Jv's and putting yourself around a bit offering relevant value.

Add in things like social comments and sharing features to maximise on the traffic you get.

Put plenty of content on high traffic platforms to draw them back to the site.

If want ease Plimus is easy and can track affiliates.

    Hope that helps.

Oh ya, i definitely plan on building my list from the start!

Anyone have an opinion on at what point could you decide your sales funnel is "complete" and to start sending traffic to it?
