Feeling Torn Between Pursuing Two Plans of Action

Even though I consider myself to be a dating writer, I took a break from it a couple of years ago to challenge myself as a writer and a webmaster. After testing out some niches, I finally found one that I really enjoy writing about...and it was under my nose this whole time!

It was the automotive industry (focusing on one automaker, and branching out and covering a couple of others as well). It's a news site that covers recalls, safety investigations, news, reviews, etc.

Anyways, I've ran into one small problem...I've lost the main way that I was monetising the site. More specifically, I recently had my Adsense account banned! I knew in the back of my mind that it was going to get banned one day, so I'm not that broken hearted about it...nor do I have the time to sulk about it.

I really need another way of monetising it...I'm giving myself a few more months at it, since I really enjoy writing for it (dating and cars are two of my passions). If not, then I will revert back to my dating IM plan (I will eventually, but I want to focus on this site and get it to the point to where it's making a steady monthly profit).

Any thoughts/suggestions? I currently have some auto-related ads from CJ up at the moment (I tried some Amazon ads, but they didn't fare well). I'm open to anything at the moment...

Have you tried CPA, anything related to Automotive of course, gas card offers etc., maybe even some Amazon products, repair manuals that sort of thing. Just a couple ideas anyway, although from what I keep hearing, there is some money to be made in the dating niche.

Don't you hate that, many people invest a lot of time building up sites hoping to make thousands with Adsense and then end up getting there account banned.

Word to all internet marketers out there never put all your eggs in one basket, especially when that basket belongs to Google.

Finding the right monetizing options for your site does depend on many things. How much traffic you get to your sites?
What type of traffic you get to your sites?
    Your Bounce Rate.
    And lastly your marketing strategy.

Without knowing the specific's I can only suggest a few options for you.
    • Paid reviews
    • CPA offers
    • Taking control of your own Adspace buy using sites like BuySellAds.com.
    • Chitika.com

CPA does not require any cash to start or maintain.

What is the current traffic you are getting from the website. Because the automotive industry is a pretty competitive niche, so if you are getting a decent amount of views (few thousand a day+), you may want to try your hand at selling advertising spaces on your website.

Just a quick question. If you knew that your adsense account was going to be banned someday, which is good that you thought ahead, why didn't you research alternative methods to advertise ahead of time? I'm not trying to bash you, just wondering.
