A few OTO questions...

So you have your main product right. That's on the sales page. But for the OTO page do you need to offer a different product? If so, is it more or less than the main product?

Or can you just offer the main product at a discounted price?

You can make oto page which offering everything you want that related to your main product. You can offer people the different licenses, for example.

Go and read the Irresistible Offer by Mark Joyner, which is perhaps where this concept was introduced to the world of Internet Marketing.

It has to be your best service at best ever price, and the key thing to understand is to remember the "One Time" part.

If I buy it when I join your list, then tomorrow you make me the same offer, you've just pissed off your new customer who now thinks that you just lied to close the sale. Also it shows those who didn't buy that you can't stick to your word, and will make you look untrustworthy.

Take the time to learn the principals and you will do very well.

It really depends if you tell them that it`s a one time offer

I know the term "one time offer" gets thrown around a lot but it really depends if you actually tell people it`s a one time offer or if it`s just a good offer they they will love at a discounted price

Offering the same product for the same price within your follow ups is fine as long as you didn`t say on your sales page that they saw after opt in that it was "one time offer and they will never see this price again"

I promote the same product as i use for my OTO but it`s not exactly a one time offer it`s just all round super cheap compared to the amount of value and juicy content I give them

You should read that resource that was offered above, and then once you have a better idea of what you could offer you shluld research other otos in your niche and from those construct your own

Yes, it is something that you offer after your main product and it is DIFFERENT to the main product. Uusually it should be something that supports the main product and depending on the quality it maybe more/less expensive.

      Hi,

I have a different view on OTO. In my opinion when someone subscribe or buy product they he is in different mood. so, he don't buy it at all. If he have bought the product then he already spent something and he wants to enjoy his product. By offering another product we are harming our trust. I think we should offer other products while we followup messages. If he liked the first product which he bought from you then he might buy second. Now days internet marketers are offering OTO after OTO and that is very boring.

If I am wrong please guide me.

I agree with you, it´s boring, but I don´t think they would do it if they didn´t make more money that way!

I think most on WF are conditioned to expect a OTO upsell after the main purchase. It is the OTO term that causes issues because in actual fact most OTOs become anytime offers! Its the trust thing that was mentioned above. The most significant thing is the positioning of the OTO. If its presented as a OTO never again and then appears in sebsequent emails thats a very different thing to an upsell sold as presenting value (which could easily be presented again in good faith). IMHO

Confined To Life, I would use a related product as your OTO. Certainly not EXACTLYthe same. Good advice above such as audio track, video sequence etc. If you want to cut the price and use the same produce then remove/reduce bonuses for example. Wouldn't it annoy you if you paid full price and subsequently found out that the OTO had a price cut. Faith lost, refund PLEASE; I expect would be the reply.

Hmm, it's like buying a 'car' and then you can get all the fancy optional upgrades 'tinted windows' and 'xenon lights'.... same here, you buy the main product, and then you have an optional offer to make it better.

An OTO is basically an extension of the original product that they do not NEED to make the product work but it will fastrack or increase their success.

It is called One Time Offer because when customers buy your product they are excited about it and the results it will give, so sellers seize that opportunity and sell them offers. They are usually more expensive than the actual product. The best time to get your customers to buy more from you is straight after their purchase otherwise the excitement is gone.

A OTO is usually after they have purchased a product unless they have just subscribed to your list for free, so generally it will be a add-on to the main product because they have already purchased the main thing.

Obviously if they haven't made a purchase and have just subscribed then it would be a discounted price for the main product, like in the post above though make sure this is truely one time only and it cant be purchased at this at any time elsewhere.

I'm still not sure whether to offer a different product or a discounted main product.

I would go with a different product that is related, for instance if you offer an audio track for an ebook that is a main product. Maybe extra Q&A session related to the product etc

You are confusing a "one time offer" with a "downsell". A downsell is where you can offer the same or a similar product, minus a bell or whistle, at a lower price. An OTO is an upsell, which is another product you are selling that compliments the original product. OTOs are very powerful, because you are catching the buyer at the precise moment that they are in a buying mode.

No, I'm planning on only using my OTO after they opt-in to the squeeze.

Thats exactly how I view it should be used... After the opt-in, they receive the auto-responded e-mail directing them to the "amazing, monumental, epic, informative, FREE" information/packet/video/story, that they had requested-The sole reason that they had chose to opt-in.

During this engagement, you should definitely have substance to offer, at least giving them everything you said you would. Typically, its a written testimonial or testimonial video. Sometimes they "opt-in" because they've already been sold, just not yet closed, thus making this first page a sales page.

While on the sales page, there's a a timer that's counting down. "whats the timer for?", Its creating urgency wrapped around the product, because hey, "if i'm going to buy this thing, I sure don't want to pay $197 when I can get it for $47 in the next 4 minutes..."

To me, a OTO, is exactly that... A One Time Offer, and upon expiration of the offer... The offer will never be made again, to you.

If you've ever watched The Shark Tank, You'll notice how Mark Cuban will make an offer on a deal and give the people the "shotclock".. Meaning if the deal isn't accepted in 24 seconds, it will be rescinded-never to return.

    It depends on the product.

I sell software and selling different versions is a good upsell.

I have also sold complimentary products very well.

I don't know what you men by less than the main product. Each product should have it's own value, regardless what your other products are selling at.
