If you're up to the cerebral challenge, the mesothelioma niche is perennially lucractive, both in terms of Adsense EPC and products/services. The target market encompases the upper spectrum of intelligentsia.

I think Malta said they were using Google News. While mesothelioma is exactly what you say, it is also a red flag for Google News publisher watchdogs. Unless your news site is specifically in the medical news niche, I would stay far away from this subject.

but not in that order. I am a retired stock broker, and love number 4) But realistically you can make money in lots of niches, as long as you help prospects and offer good info.

Too many people think you should not enter a niche because its competitiveness, no...that is BS that means there is money getting thrown in that niche and you need to stand infront of it. You know, the top people in your niche are doing something wrong, fix it, and become a leader and not a follower and you can work wonders.

Brain Rose had siad it all. Its the only wise thing to do. I do not always buy the idea of "what interest you only recommendation". I would suggest your "profitable niche" should be highly searched and low competitive.

It is probably best to choose niches and keywords with medium to low competition that still pay well; targeting the top and most profitable niches requires either a lot of money to invest or months/years of hard labor

If you're going to monetize with Adsense you want to see what market has the highest cost per click for the keywords you'll be using.

The higher the CPC the more you will get paid through Adsesne. Use the Google Keyword Tool to find a list of keywords for each market and see which has the highest CPC.

The Most money is around Health and Wealth (make money online). But the sad part is everyone is after these two niches only. So you have to be really creative with the ways you earn money. Because as is the story these two zones are raked with big time competition. You can also try wealthy affiliate if you want to sail smoothly.

I know your not going to want to read this, but use the search function here on the WF. You can find profitable, evergreen niches listed by the hundreds if not thousands.

"top most profitable niches", "profitable niches" or similar keywords in the search. If you don't, you really stand a chance of limiting yourself in finding what you're really interested in.

I would call most of the suggestions given here "topics" or "subjects."

They are very broad and each contains many, many subtopics as well as many, many more sub-sub-topics.

The term "niche" refers to a hole, a gap, or literally a small "carved out" place in a wall. For marketing purposes, topics like finance, health, and entertainment shouldn't be confused with profitable "niches."

You attack a niche with the idea that you are going to fill it with information or products that people who are searching for some exact answer can't find elsewhere.

Think of how the average person searches on the Internet. Do they go looking for very broad subjects? Do they hunt for "shoes" or "cars" or "history"? NO. I won't say never, but very rarely.

Folks search on the Internet for specifics. The more specific your search, the better the search engines will be in returning the exact results you want to see.

If you have an interest in "penny stocks", IMO, you shouldn't do a web site about "making money" or "finance" or "debt reduction," any of which could be related, but none of which identify the exact product or information you have to offer.

My suggestion would be to pick the two or three top interests you have, being as specific as you can, then go from there.

Even with a Google News site, you would be much better off focusing on specific areas of news rather than trying to compete with the huge all-encompassing news aggregators that are so powerful.

There are thousands of Google News sites that are specific to sub-industries and targeted deep niches. That's where most of the searches are and that's where the money will be. There is no money in "shoes." There is money in "black Nike running shoes, size 10."

our number one niche now is "increase your wee wee size" LOL...well u know. Didnt want to SEO that keyword either. LOL.

the ads we have are well, kind of R Rated, but they just work, and this is a niche where teh buyers are hungry and are willing to pay for product or new and useful information if you can show them proof. Ok, I am sort of embarresed now....LOL...but you guys need to be in a niche where buyers HAVE the money, and are WILLING to pay for stuff.

Also remember the backend, and higher priced products to customers who are proven buyers. :-)

I have to agree with the above that weight loss ( especially this time of year) and enhancement products do well. As it is, we manufacture and sell these types of products and have an affiliate program for those that want to get the biggest payouts on these types of products.

A niche that has a lot of search traffic good, but if the traffic is not "clicking traffic" it's no good. Visitors must be hungry and willing to click ads because they are very hungry to find what they are looking for.

Only way to know which niche is the most profitable is testing. Many of the niches mentioned here we have tested and don't really pour in the profit.

I'll give you an example of niche we have tested that pays really well;

Hearing Aids - because the advertisers are hungry for customers and make a lot of profit from their sales. They are willing to bid very high in Adwords, and they pay well for commissions. Make sure you get a direct deal with vender though for affiliate commissions. Also, people looking for hearing aids are generally hungry for answers and are willing to click ads - I know, because we have done the tests. Hearing Aids clicks in Adsense pay as much as finance.

So the niche has to be three things;

1) aggressive visitors who will click ads
2) aggressive advertisers who make big money on conversions
3) high search volume online for the product

How much competition you have doesn't matter because if set up a domain properly you can beat out even the biggest sites. Our main niche beats Wikipedia and all the Gov sites. One thing for sure, winning top results in the SEs comes down to extensive content and engaging with visitors so they add to your content. We have not chased links since 2007 and it's really paid off. Panda and Penguin wiped out a lot of our competition because they were chasing links and not focusing on the latter.

Some nice niches in this thread. Sadly 99% of newbies will be burned alive if they try to enter them.

Really you're better off working in a niche in which you're passionate about and can work the 100 hour weeks required to succeed.

The previous poster is onto a good thing with hearing aids... that's a nice example of a less well known niche.

That is quite easy to determine just go to click bank marketplace and look around another good way to determine if a niche is good,just go to Amazon .com or magazine .com,if you find books on the niches chances are the niche is profitable.

None of these are niches. They're all major markets. Most of the other answers are major markets as well. Am I being too picky? No.

If you want to be successful online it's important to know what you're doing. It's important to talk the talk intelligently if you expect to be taken seriously. If you really don't know that Diet is a major market and that the "grape seed & celery" diet is a niche within the major market then you don't stand a chance.
