Good affiliate network to start with

I need to know which affiliate network is good to start with.

I have a Blog setup that I am running through a shared host and will build up from there depending upon traffic.

I am still learning (like everyone when they first started) so take it easy with me.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks for chiming in, but what do you mean by "not starting with a shared host"?

Gee, I am not Google God, just a newbie sussing out the market.

I can't afford paying $50 a month when I have made $0,00 so far and will remain like that for several months until the ball starts rolling.

Thanks for the other advice, anyway.

      Anyone else?

Start out with something simple that doesn't require much to get it easily...

Such as Clickbank.com , Commission Junction, Shareasale, etc.

Also, don't forget private affiliate programs as well. Search Google for your niche + affiliate program or something like you niche + affiliate login

In many cases you can find high converting offers, that are not over exposed.

Check out these types of programs and find something that matches your content theme.

Keep it simple. Then scale up.

    Good luck to you!

Of the dozens of CPA and affiliate companies I have worked with, the affiliate managers at Market Leverage and Azoogle have been the most attentive and treated me the best.

Did you mean you have shared hosting, rather than a VPS or reseller account? As long as you have a domain name and website, you should be OK.

But if you mean you are making a Blogger blog, that could make it harder for you to sign up with some affiliate networks.

You can get a decent hosting account free here: www.000webhost.com. They won't put ads on your site, and it has cpanel, fantastico for installing Wordpress, etc. You certainly don't have to spend $50/month for hosting! That might be for a VPS. Even reseller accounts don't cost that much.

Get a domain name, then you can put up a Wordpress blog or even host your Blogger blog on your own domain. Blogger explains how to do that.

There are several good guides in the WSO forum, about how to get accepted by CPA networks, but you can start by selling a Clickbank product.

Also, find out alll the terms of any network you want to join - for example, many people use Commission Junction, but if you're not making any sales they will deactivate your account, and you may have to start all over again with your advertisers.... a big waste of time and effort.

Yes and at the same time delete your account so you can kill two birds with one stone, genius.

About the rest of the advice given, thanks.

One thing: I read in an online report that is better having a dedicated account manager is better than promoting Clickbank products, correct me if I am wrong.

    Cheers.

I would highly recommend you start with Commission Junction.
Based on experience, they work wonders.
And the customer service is really good.

I don't know, there's a new thread right now about CJ deactivating accounts and not responding to inquiries about it. 3 or 4 of us have posted there just today.

I emailed a question about it several days ago and they(Commission Junction) haven't responded....

Maybe I'm missing something about how to work with them?

Try Clickbank and CPA networks like Clickbooth and COPEAC. If you are interested in physical products, Commission Junction is another avenue.

Another affiliate directory you should check out is AffiliateScout. They have a list of networks you can join there.

I know about the Wordpress thing already. That's why I am using a shared host (please re-read my posts above).

Thanks for the affiliate networks suggestions.

      Cheers.

1st you need to pick your niche and decide how to best monetize it, before you decide on network. Sometimes, but not always, the niche will define which network to go with.

For instance if your niche would be best to monetize with ebooks then CB may be the best network. But if you are going to sell physical products to your niche then a digital products network like CB or a CPA network Azoogle isn't a good choice - CJ, Google Affiliate Network or Shareasale would be best.

I started with clickbank and cj.com
should be good for you to start with as well, both can be ran on hosted blogs or your own .com
btw, hosting for a new site is like 3$ a month, a domain is 10$ a year.
