List Owners - How often do you backup your lists?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

In a recent JV contest, my list was stuck in an autoresponder provider.
The server was done and I waited for more than 4 days before I was
able to access it.

The more I waited, the more I panic....

in my mind, I was thinking ... what if the site is permanently down and there go my 4 figure list...

As they say, your list is your #1 asset....and how often do you backup your list?

Hi John,

I back-up my lists once every 2 months. But I was wondering... if you back-up and something unfortunate happens to your list, would those back-ups remain as your subscribers?

I mean, if you're transfering from one autoresponder to aweber or other autoresponder services, your subscribers need to re-opt-in again to stay subscribed. And based on experience, only a small percentage of your list will re-subscribe again.

I think for the re-subscribe, it will help if there is an incentive.

Another important factor is the relationship the marketer has built with his list.

If they like him, I believe the optin rate will be high.

I usually backup my list every 2 weeks.

I don't want to loose any subscribers Because they are important to me.

  I feel it does not matter if it is 2 weeks or 2 months...the key idea you have brought up is to do it regularly. =)

Anybody know a quick way to backup leads at GetResponse? I poked around there, but found no way to download a CSV list of all my leads in each campaign...

Hi Vince,

I will quote exactly what Getresponse replied.

Hello John,

Thank you for contacting GetResponse.

If you would like to make a backup of your mailing
list, please make use of the export subscribers
feature.

You may export subscribers at Subscribers>>My
subscribers>>All subscribers. Click on "all time"

Once the list is displayed,
below it you will find the export command. You will be
able to export the file in the CSV format. Please make
sure to check the "Include custom fields" option.

The file will contain your subscribers names, email
addresses, sign-up dates and ref numbers that indicate
the way they were added to your list.

I hope you find this helpful. If you have any other
questions, please do not hesitate to ask me, I will be
happy to assist you.
