Couple of beginner questions.

So I have been toying with the thought of starting IM for most of this year, I decided to develop a skill instead for the majority of this year. That being web development I guess now is a good time to start. I get a tiny head start from a complete noob as I somewhat understand SEO.

I have decided to target the self-help niche for my first test. Mostly because I love self-help books especially business oriented. So having a bit of passion and actually enjoying the niche is half the battle I have heard.

I have written up a little list of things to do, some are already done some are upcoming.

I would like to hear from some of you older warriors incase im going in the complete wrong direction. Any help is really appreciated!

So here is what I have got so far.
  • Set Up Wordpress
  • Create Pages
  • Make 5 Blog posts - Book Reviews
  • Make 5 Video Reviews For YouTube
  • Make 5 reviews of self-help CB products
  • Make 5 videos of self-help CB products
  • Purchase SEO from a friend
  • Apply for Amazon Afilliate
  • Set up mini self-help bookstore
  • Set up E-Mail sign up Box

So I got to the E-mail part so I can build up my first list. Firstly I want to outline what I think is needed for the E-Mail list.

I plan on sending a weekly sort of newsletter that includes 3 things
Some great free information (could be a link to another blog)
3 great books - I review 1
3 great CB products - I review 1

So within those reviews obviously I can put in my affiliate links. I thought by sending a weekly newsletter and some good free info I would start to gain my users trust.

I want something for people to actually have an incentive to sign up to that e-mail. I was looking for some free self-help stuff but I cant manage to find some, It would be awesome if someone could help me out with that.

Im wondering how many blog posts per month would be a good starting point.

Any pointers in the right direction would be really great.

Thanks in advance!

Write a blog post a day. I always wonder how Clickbank affiliates do paid traffic with the profit earned being so low. There are other Networks that pay you much more then a $150 max per person potential and give you leverage. There is no reason you need to be someones affiliate and not be able to have your own affiliates. There is no reason you cannot make $1,000 from one sale and walk away with 100% of it...

Deliver good content around a product each week. Teach them something in your content and then introduce a solution to have them do it faster or more effective, etc... Of course the solution is the product you are promoting and the best thing I've found is to be completely above board with the fact you will be getting a small commission if they decide to purchase.

I also like to over deliver and offer support in the way of any questions they may have about how to implement the product after they have purchased.

You can also up the ante and include a special exclusive bonus you create that's like a companion to the purchased product.

Then the very next day send out another email that reminds them of your exclusive bonus if they decide to purchase the product this week.

And of course a final email the day before your next newsletter goes out with more information and introduction to a new product. Of course you could always promote the same product but deliver additional content to solidify the reason why they want to get the product instead of doing something the longer way.

These are just guidelines and will depend on your style. Don't worry about getting someone on your list upset. You are providing quality content and if they cannot appreciate that then they would never be likely to buy anything ever and the sooner you can weed those people out and off your list the better off you'll be.

I dont think I fully understand what you meant when talking about clickbank? I was under the impression that I put my CB link, people buy it and I make profit. I dont see any bad in that?

Thanks mate, I now realise how easy it is to learn and how easy it is to do on my own. Before you made that post I had no idea what MRR was. It gave me the confidence to do my own searches now, I was worrying that I may search for the wrong thing and cock-up at the first hurdle!

The way you layed it all out made it much more clear to me, I was over complicating things in my head for sure. Thanks for the long post mate

No criticism implied, Jack, but this comes across as a little naive. It's terribly difficult to sell many ClickBank products just from on-page affiliate links, for the reasons explained in this post (among others): http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...ml#post7110523

I didn't mean that it was super simple and I would make a million $ overnight, I just wanted to post the simplest way I could. I was trying to make the point that I dont understand the post he made. ClickBank makes you money so I dont see what was bad about that?

Yes, I understand. Unfortunately, though, "the simplest way you can" - to put it mildly - isn't at all conducive to making ClickBank sales. You need to build lists and relationships, to do that successfully.

  • Congratulations on getting it set up. You've already gotten further along than 90% of people who never get to where you're at.

You can pick blog post frequency. A post per day is ideal, but one every 2-3 days is also acceptable. A post per day is good because it will help you build more content quickly & will help you get more stuff into the search engines.

Send an email once or twice per week. A good rule of thumb is to send emails to 3 good pieces of content for every one promotional email you send.

Another key thing for a blog is to respond to ALL comments you receive. It's an important and often overlooked strategy. You want to get to the point of having 30-50+ people comment on every post that you do. This will automatically happen as you create friendships through the discussions in your blog comments. Any time I've done this, I've averaged dozens of people commenting on each post within the first 30 days. In the beginning you can even seed the comments with a few "fake" comments. It's ok to do as long as you don't provide fake testimonials. Ask a question about your blog post under a fake name & then answer it under your own name. This will jumpstart comments because you are showing people that you answer comments.

Having regular comments will attract more people to your blog and build a relationship with your blog readers.

The list is important because you'll be using it to drive people to the more important blog posts. As an excuse to sign up create a free report, a free video, or even just give a name to your free newsletter. It sounds like a lot of extra work, but if you've already posted to the blog a few times, how hard is it to create a free 10 page pdf? It's not hard, you just need to do it.

Engaging your readers is important. Have the social share plugin. Everyone has a facebook account. Create a facebook page and post each new blog post there. Have a P.S. at the bottom of the first 5 emails in your autoresponder sequence with a link to your facebook page. Write a post once in awhile about the facebook community you're building on your page. Engage your readers on the page just as you have on your blog comments.

Do this for 90 days and you'll have an incredibly loyal following. What I've said is enough to launch an information product after the 90 days. It's simple, but effective.

It's very easy to find freebies which is related to your niche. Just find somebody else's squeeze page and make sure they got bonus ebook on it. Get the bonus after you opt in then Make it as your bonus Pretty easy eh?

3 Blog posts per week will be very great to your ON-Site Optimization. Just stick with the keywords you researched. I'm sure you don't get into trouble at all.
