Is there a way to check the traffics of other websites?

I want to do some research about my competitions and I think it would be a good idea to find out what their traffic is like. Eg. Views per days and clicks etc. Is there a way to do that?

    But remember that the only people who have access to the true figures are the people who own the domain itself.

    Alexa measures traffic based on its toolbar and then extrapolates (mathematical term for inspired guess) from there.

    Compete uses a sample of 2 million US surfers and then extrapolates from there. Which skews the data for any site that doesn't get most of its traffic from the US.

    Alexa.com can give you some idea but it would be better to ask the site webmaster.

      but I got this:

    Use alexa. It's pretty reliable.

    Compete is nonsense. Its way off for my sites. Alexa gives you an estimate which looks credible but doesn't say how many uniques a month. Don't know about the others as I've not tried them in the past.

      Not really. Once upon a time there was Alexa, today their statistics are very, very impartial and irrelevant.

        It does seem that way, I still don't know much about their traffic! So do you all use the paid version?

    SEMRush is a good tool that provides great info for free. I haven't tried any paid plans yet.

    Check out the paid version of compete.com for more detailed traffic analytics of competing sites.
