Paypal Makes It Hard To Pay By Credit Card - Any Way Around It?

Okay, so paypal will always make you use your paypal balance first. If you have no balance they will by default make you do an echeck or a bank wire, however you can switch payment option and pay by credit card.

Basically I prefer paying by credit card for accounting purposes at end of year, also I like earning the credit card points since I'm reselling though this account and its my customers money that will be racking up reward points.

Anyhow, they make it quite a hassle to do this. Was wondering if there's any workaround or if maybe switching to a business account instead of personal will allow me to pay by credit card.

Currently every time I get paid I transfer it to my bank, then log back in switch payment type to credit card and then pay.

I know Paypal thinks they are saving money by not taking on the merchant fees however I'm sure it's more expensive and more labor intensive the way I'm doing it sending 6-8 wires/withdrawls to my account a day every time I get paid and then need to pay something.

That must be a default for the personal account. I am almost positive I have my preferred backup set as credit card first.

Can you set a Credit Card as your primary or no? Also what type of account is it you have?

From what my experience has been they always go for the Pay Pal balance first but I am almost positive my secondary funding is credit card, then bank account.

          Hi there,

I have had the same experience as you. I would prefer to pay everything on Paypal through my credit card for accounting purposes.

What I have discovered is that if I withdraw all the money in my Paypal account, I can always and easily put any new charge on my credit card.

          Hope this helps you!

You might find you don't have a pay pal account to use if you continually keep it empty also. That is one of their red flags.

you can have 2 paypal account, one with no balance used for paying whatever you want with credit card. second is used for accepting payment from your client. you can have 2 paypal account anyway, personal and business. personal for paying, business for accepting (or vice versa).
