Question for twitter folks

Just created a new twitter account a couple days ago. I'm curious about something.

What has someone's avatar show up in the "Following" section? I've followed a bunch of folks and vice versa, but there are only 4 of those little avatars showing so far on the right side of my page.

    Which page do you mean? If you click on "followers" or "following" it should show all the people in that category.

    Yes those links work fine.

    If you go the Twitter link in my sig you will only see 4 avatars on the right nav under "Following". Yet when I go to others' pages they show dozens of those avatars.

    My question is: why does mine show so few even though I'm following more than 4 people?

    I'm not talking about the actual lists. Let me see if I can explain better.

    When you just go to my main page (twitter.com/krazyken) look over to the right. There are 3 main sections in the right-hand nav area: Updates, Favorites and Following.

    Under the word "Following" you will see only 4 avatar pics on my page... even though I'm following over 100 people.

    However, when I go to *your* twitter page (/LockwoodChris) there are *dozens* of avatars in the same spot.

    I'm wondering why so few of those are showing on my page.

      I know what you're saying. There could be an issue with the account you created - and it is new but that shouldn't matter.

      You will need to wait it out, or go experiment and open another dummy account that you can delete and just go follow some people and see if it happens again.

      There is some beta stuff going on right now as well and some wacky stuff for some folks.

    That is strange! When I view my profile, there are some names down there with the icons...I think sometimes Twitter doesn't refresh or load pages right. Guess there are too many Twitterers or something!

    Best guess is that twitter does not update this section that often. With the down time they have been going though lately with the system best guess is they have the feature updating more slowly. I just created a new account to test it out and added some people to follow and mine has not yet updated. It added one person and that's it. Best guess its growing pains and you will just need to wait for it to update.

    Twitter is having a lot of issues today.

    I would just wait a few days and it will probably resolve itself.

    It's like when somedays it says I have 0 updates when I really have over 1300.
